  1. Just a few new custom gloves for the 09-10 season.. All are Tufftek with Nash palms
  2. I know a few places where they have been demoing the new Bauer X60 stick... The stick does not have any graphics so it is just clear coated graphite but it is in fact the new X60 stick that will be out for the holiday release. Had a chance to hold it for a few and it feels pretty good, never been a big Bauer stick guy but it definitely feels a little lighter then the XXXX.
  3. Guess i missed something but when if ever were those MSH bags available??? and how much were they? Im always looking to add another bag to my collection that i dont need.
  4. You should throw those Vapor XX's right in where you took the picture of them!!! "Trash Only" couldnt have said it any better myself LOL
  5. My latest invention from being bored at work the other day.. Took a little bit of time but it takes blades just like a standard tapered shaft out of the box would!!
  6. The boot and chassis are naturally pitched forward so very little issue with putting too much weight on your heel... I dont think this is that uncommon, as i stated before if you look at most mission roller blades there all set up the same way.....
  7. This is actually Zdeno Charra's One95 boot which is a size 12.... The chassis's are actually a correct fit for this boot.. If you look at a stock mission rollerblade (high end) the chassis and wheels look just like they do on this boot.. Most companies only make a Large chassis and theres not much you can do when mounting it on a size 12 boot. Although the boot is too big for me i laced them up and they felt fine compared to my custom XXX roller blades
  8. Mounting chassis's is pretty easy to me.. I usually mark the center of the boot and just line it up by eye.. I just drill a hole up front and then one in back to get started. after that i drill the rest of the holes and rivet it up and im done...
  9. My latest creation for a customer.....
  10. i never get tired of ordering custom gloves for customers because im always excited to see how they turn out.. looking at a simulated version on the computer screen is a lot different then seeing them in person once their made.
  11. Who knows, maybe i caught them at the right time or maybe there starting to carry a surplus of certain glove blanks but i highly doubt that. My glove was pretty simple, all black tufftek, standard palms, pro pack padding, silver shield lining and custom font colors.
  12. My turn around time was definitely a lot faster then other custom gloves i have ordered for customers in the past. i dont know if it was just the time of year i ordered or what but i definitely got lucky with a fast turn around. Most of the time its taken closer to the 4 week turn around then the 3 week i got. But still all in all thats pretty fast compared to the competition
  13. Mack, no Warrior dealers out your way??
  14. These gloves were faster then normal. I ordered them around the first of the year, and they were shipped out on the 16th i believe. so it was basically a 3 week turn around time by the time i got them. It usually takes 3-4 weeks to get custom gloves from Warrior/MIA
  15. I just did a standard custom order. The Warrior Custom site still isnt up so you can still use the Miasports.com website to customize your gloves. Just print that form with all your options and bring it to your LHS. Any LHS that carries Warrior can order them for you
  16. Since my last thread got locked, figured id put these gloves in the right place
  17. We use the blademaster setup and trust me if it was up to me we'd be charging $20 to do the custom jobs. About half our customers know what their talking about when they ask for a radius, but the other half make me cringe. I try and absorb as much info as they tell me so i can give them the best options that fit their needs. Unfortunately our store isnt in a rink so we're unable to actually see the players skate but thats definitely an advantage. Ive had a few customers come back stating they felt they were too far forward or back after having the radius done and we gladly fixed it for free.
  18. Some prices in my shop i have no control over. When i came there the price for a custom radius was $8 and it still is to this day. Im sure we could charge more but that price is up to me. We do a professional radius, not some quick two minute hack job. So for a customer to complain about $8 for having that done shows me what kind of person they really are. JR, how much do you charge and do you do it for free when someone buys a pair of skates??? I know two shops in my area that actually charge the customers extra to sharpen the skates they just bought from them. To me theres a big difference between sharpening a new pair of skates and putting a custom radius on them, hence why we charge extra for the radius and not the sharpening!!
  19. Had a pretty funny one yesterday. Guy dropped his skates off on sunday to get a custom radius done. I called him on monday and told him they were ready so he comes and picks them up. I put them on he counter pull out the receipt and say, "Thatll be $8 sir" he gives me the nastiest look and says "your seriously charging me for this, i bought these skates here over a month ago!!" I go on to tell him how no shop ever has or ever will do a custom radius for free. When he bought the skates we sharpened them for free and baked them. He then tells me he's not coming to this store anymore and he's taking all the business he's given us else where. Haha, i work 6 days a week 9 hours a day so i have a very good idea of our customers and when they come in. This guy has probably bought a roll of tape or two in the past from us until one of his friends told him to come to us to save a few bucks on a new pair of skates! Inside i was laughing but obviously i held that in. First of all we gave him 10% off when he bought the skates so he already saved $43 and if he really has a problem spending $8 for a custom radius on a $430 pair of skates then he probably isnt our type of customer. I know for a fact that every shop in our area charges $15+ for a custom radius and no one does it for free when u buy the skates. The key word is "Custom" which means it takes time, and in our business time is money! I hope he does go to another store and then realizing he got an incredible deal on the skates and that it does indeed cost $$$$ for custom radius's.
  20. Should see it right around 239.99 at most shops. Might see it a little higher at some places. This price seems to be the medium with the high end sticks this year! Im just curious to see how many people will actually be willing to spend this much on a stick. Better yet, when the stick breaks after 35 days and their out of the warranty how many will buy another after that!!!
  21. IMO they are a very overpriced glove for what your getting. Theres about 3 or 4 gloves i can think of that feel a lot better and are a lot cheaper then the Warriors. Lastly they dont look too hot either!!
  22. We are scheduled to receive our Easton S15's on 4/1.......
  23. I definitely agree with you there. Their marketing seems to be targeted at the younger generation with all the bright colors, extreme graphics, and language selection in there ads. Most of our jr sticks are sold while the Sr models didnt sell as well as expected. However towards the end of the season i definitely noticed more being sold. The amazing thing with Warrior that doesnt pertain to our consumers is that they have a 2 day turn around time for custom OPS's for the pros. The stick has only been out for a little over a year now and theres 110 NHL players using the stick. Im willing to bet over the next year or two we'll see a tremendous rise in Warrior OPS sales.
  24. They are selective as to who is allowed to carry their products. There are about five different LHS in my area and we are one of only two stores to carry the Warrior product. The MAP guarantees their product will not be sold at a price that might deminish the quality their product is viewed thru advertising. The only time this becomes a problem is towards the end of the season when your trying to get rid of your product and you cant go any lower then the MAP. We had some Starskies we were sitting on for a while but once we got the OK to lower the price they sold in no time.
