  1. going through true directly could never hurt as they'd be able to give you a direct explanation and avoiding any type of communication miscues by going through HM.

I was a little shocked about the tongue and lace issue. The shop I'm at has done almost 50 pairs to date, and having fit numerous people personally, I will call the person and see when they can come, but not before doing a "prep" of the skate to make sure everything is lined up properly and ready to go, including tongue laces and holder/steel if it was installed in house. a little lack of care on their part IMO.

True has told us, as mentioned above that the imperfection can happen when overlapping occurs during the build process and we have never had any issues with it.

While you may not want to settle, I would recommend that you take an "add some experience to your resume" position for a year or two. It is always easier to find a job when you have a job.

That's where I'm at right now, I currently have 2 jobs to gain experience, however one consistent job with the same hours would be much more manageable while I try to get my life in order haha

  3. Finding full time employment now that I'm done university and grad school is tough. Especially since I decided to stay in the city I moved to for grad school because I was certain there would be more options in my field. It's getting to the point now that I'm best off casting a wider net and settling for something, but I hear so many horror stories about people settling at jobs, and being in my mid twenties I don't want that.

    Frustrating to say the least.

  4. Very interesting concept, however wouldn't all that movement lead to loss in energy? by no means am I a physicist just curious if that wouldn't be the case.

In terms of the reviews and comments, I'd take those with a grain of salt. Whenever somebody has access to a free/heavily reduced price item that item seems to suddenly be the best product on the market since sliced bread in their eyes.

honestly I thought it looked worse in person than in photos somehow. How they look will play very little into my decision of which skates ill buy next, but if its a tie breaker, I'm going for the ones that catch my eye. I am interested to see what the options are for bauers 3D, True, and just getting some custom CCM skates, when I go to make that decision in a year or so.

The options for bauers 3D are nexus vapor supreme D or EE width. That's all the scanner is going to do for you unless you're looking into going full customs.

Vh is is offering a full digital scan of your feet and those are sent directly to VH to build a custom last.

Ccm customs remain main pretty unchanged, less tinkering is available in terms of volume because of the one piece boot compared to previous years but still relatively standard.

  6. the fit centres aren't live yet in Canada, at least not at my location in Ottawa. Depending on what chain of hockey shops you have on the east coast I would call them to inquire if any of their locations are getting a fit station. I know in the Ottawa area the shop I'm at is the only Source for Sports location getting one, not sure about the Pro Hockey Life
