  1. Well if you decide you hate them after the first ice time (impossible I know haha) let me know. Those are classy.

I agree. I am going the custom Eagle route and I hope mine look as nice as those. Mine should look similar, as I am going with black as my primary color but my cuff roll colors will be different.

  2. Ok here's your weight answer. Weighed the rest of my gloves(besides my x50s, they're on their way to eagle). Here are the results:

    15" NBH Supreme one90:

    Left glove: 310g

    Right glove: 315g

    14" NBH Supreme 70:

    Left glove: 303g

    Right glove: 314g

    14.5" Easton Pro stock:

    Left glove: 316g

    Right glove: 315g

    14.5 Eagle x-72:

    Left glove: 282g

    Right glove: 282g

There you go, for all the gram counters out there. It's definitely noticeable when you grab them but on the had, stick handling it's unnoticeable. Weight is not going to make a difference between any of these gloves. The QC on these is fantastic, they are literally off in weight by less than a gram, probably about a 1/3 of a gram. The freaking tag might be the difference in weight. Stitching is beautiful.

I probably should have gotten the double palm but no worries. The next glove will probably have a double layer MSH2.

I am shocked that you got them back so fast, given the horror stories about Eagle's turnaround time. That's awesome.....so I assume you would recommend EWH for custom gloves?

  3. You don't play in the NHL Fletch. Double won't kill ya. You'll see when we hook up.

Sounds good....I'm curious to hear how the palms hold up after a couple uses. I'm kinda rough on my butt-end palm so I am debating about going single or dual layer.

    I don't know, man....I'm looking for a FA tryout at 32 ;)

I've got the dual-layer MSH2 palms on mine and they're pretty much perfect.

Careful...we're neighbors. I might just walk over and steal yours. ;)

  4. Basic custom eagle. $200ish. Got them from Jason at EWH. Ordered on Jan 22nd.

    specs:

    *Model tufftek x72

    *Retail x72 length cuff

    *1/4" of finger length added

*SINGLE layer of MSH2 palm, no overlay

    *MSH2 gussets

*All black tufftek, black "EAGLE" on cuff, with white border around "EAGLE".

*No x72 logo, no eagle head logo.

*Plastic inserts and obviously stitched logos.

    How's the weight?

Also, are the one layer palms super thin? Are you worried about them wearing out fast?

  5. Recently, straight backrolls are limited to only the Odyssey, xtreme, cp92/94/95 I believe. That should give you an idea of what you'd be getting. Eagle is one of the most confusing glove makers in hockey because they offer soo many options and have soo many different gloves... and they all look similar.

Now, I'm also going to assume that straight backrolls can be ordered on a x70, so that kind of throws a wrench into the whole program.

I have tried on both kinds (straight - CP94/ Angled - x70's) but I can't remember if the angled backrolls "feel" any different when your hand is in the glove. Do you know if it does or is it just for looks?

  6. Careful, not all are true PPF.

I've been looking at a lot of Eagles the past few days on the gallery here and on getty images and man....there are some sweet looking pairs out there on NHL players. I'm eager to try the PPF on and see how it feels after hearing quite good things about it.

Is there a way to tell by lookng at them? I've noticed some have angled backrolls and look like x70's (Bertuzzi) and ones that have straight backrolls (Redden).

  7. You're in my boat, the SOL boat. Same thing I'm facing but I'm working on something.

I'm sure you can just paypal someone near a deal who could take care of it for you and ship the gloves to you as long as you'd cover the expenses. I would do it for you if I wasn't on crutches. If you can wait a few months I'd be willing to help you out.
