  1. I think it's worth the gamble if you can get them at a decent price. I took the gamble and no "bumps" here. I'm curious to hear what socks people are using. The bumps are coming from friction. One would think using a good quality sock that comes up high enough could alleviate the issue. I'm using the bauer elite performance sock which could be the reason that I don't get the bumps
  2. Went in to my LHS this afternoon picked up a pair of One.9 skates I figured what the heck 40% off can't go wrong
  3. If you look at ms. Knight's Instagram she Also has mako bumps from her Mako 1
  4. Thanks guys after the last two posts I'll probably just stick to the CXN and try different profiles and pitches. Worst case get new steel and go back to stock
  5. Is there any updates from anyone switching from CXN to Tuuk Edge holders?
  6. I'd give them a call they'll hold them for you
  7. Picked up a Bauer HS23 $40 not a bad pick up
  8. Still using stock runner/holder Had a bit of knee strain for the first two weeks on my left side. Then again I've had problems with it before my makos. No problem now it has adjusted to the pitch
  9. I came from vapor x100 with the same issue...shouldn't be a problem
  10. I actually just left my LHS to get that done. They used a heat gun and pinched the the boot just above the heel below the ankle area. Hopefully it dose the trick. I'll let you know tomorrow if it worked

  12. Well Christmas came early found a pair of Makos in my size wife agreed to pay for half...whooooo! I couldn't resist my LHS had V9's on for 20%off had to try the E28 pattern loving it so far
  13. Well the I got to try the makos today had them baked it's amazing how much width and depth you gain after baking. I tried them on last week left skate felt fine out of box right needed baking. Unfortunately after baking the area where the tendon guard and skate meet was pinching my leg the shop tried opening up that area just couldn't get it right. I tried on a half size larger no problem at all with pinching but the boot had too much volume I wasn't even grazing the end of the toe box. It's too bad would have been a perfect fit throughout. The boot really wraps around my foot well. Hopefully the next gen model will work for me. So till then I'm in x100s :(
  14. Got lucky today my LSH brought in a pair in my size didn't have time to bake. Tried them on anyways. Left skate was pretty good without a bake right foot not so much needs more width. Once these open up after baking should be an good fit. Cross my fingers my clients pay up this week so I can grab those babies
  15. Gotcha...just gotta find a pair to try in my size...been a problem in my area most LHS are not restocking in 5.5
  16. No problems with flex either direction. I've got some tendon and legamte damage on my right left ankle which limits my movement(even more limitied with a skate on but i manage). Quick stops/starts sharp turns have caused aggrivtion a bit of swelling and pain the next day 2-3 days after playing. My doctor(sports medicince) thinks its due to the skates being too stiff for me. He is going to consult with a few of his friends who are trainers and doctors who work with NHL players. Needless to say I did not have this issue with my X6.0 which was a softer skate. My only issue is the X6.0 didnt hold up for me i went thru 2 pairs i was able to bend them at the they eyelets both skates on the right foot which has no damage. I've have only had this issue within the last few months since ive had the x100s feel fine proper fit just laterally much stiffer. X100s was my first compostie boot since my injury. Before the injury i was using ONE95s. I took a few years off went to the X6.0, EASTON RS(too big never got comfortable sold to a fellow modsquad member) and back to another pair of X6.0 I was hoping that the Makos would be inbetween the x100 and x6.0 stiffness wise Sorry for the long winded reply
  17. After going thru the pages on this topic can anyone comment on the boot height and lateral stiffness vs Bauer X100 (I may have missed it) unfortunately my LHS is sold out and will only bring them in on special order in 5.5D. So going in and trying them to compare is ruled out at the moment. I'm in x100s now finding them a tad too stiff for my liking.
