CCM SB XS Blade Holder - Retail Release?
markush replied to Santos L Halper's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Just ordered my new SuperTacks AS1 custom skates with the new holder 😄 Just hoping Step Steel runners are soon becoming available for it too. -
Any idea when Step Steel will be available for the new CCM holder (which can switch runners very quickly like the Bauer Edge holder does)
-
I got the same challenge and CCM SuperTacks were the best fitting. Also going custom for new AS1
-
Any more real world feedback on skates?
-
Right away improved agility. More lightweight - thus acceleration and every stop & go felt easier. Wondered if there is a difference in blade / runners as stability, control as well as quick moves felt so natural and seemless with even much less effort than before.
-
BTW Was skating / playing 2 hours in AS1 and the difference to Super Tacks is surprisingly big! This is the very best skate I have been using. And I tried many top of the line skates of various brands in recent years.
-
Hmm - this still confuses me. Have been using a 7,5EE SuperTacks which already fits great. Now 3D Scan for full custom of AS1 shows 8. Rep said he will add a notice. Thought the 3D Scan would perfectly match the size / fit. So why add manuelly Infos like size, toe cap width etc?
-
What about adding additional instep space? Do I need to specify this manually or will it be covered by the 3D Scan?

How is the weight compared to Total One.8? -
Some more impressions
-
So do they after 3D automatically assign the right size (7,5 D or EE) and also adapt the volume of the skate? Or do you have to manually tell them about it?
-
Fit out of the box is really excellent!
-
Where can I find a list of available custom options (like colors, different tongue etc)?
-
Puh, think that additional cost is about 20% compared to standard retail
-
So this will be similar to quick runner changeable Bauer holder?

Well Sparkx and Prosharp have had some severe testing from many users over the time ... that has to been seen for that one. Often there is a difference between claiming and delivering ;-)

CCM Super Tacks Skate Initial Thoughts

Well it is indeed different - though not that much. You won't believe how different the fit even within the Vapor line is from top-model line from season to season. So from X60 (former top-model) for example to APX or from that to 1X. I have a wider forefoot and and need quite some volume in the boot. Having used Bauer / Vapor skates the last few years (starting from X60) and now switching back to CCM was a good decision. Now I am in the SuperTacks since June and will never change back :-) Have to say that especially the 1X was the best Bauer skates i have been using (and was able to compare 4 different top of the line models X60/APX/APX2/1X) over the years ... the SuperTacks just provide the perfect fit (which is probably due to the new 360 degree complete moldable technology). -
CCM Super Tacks Skate Initial Thoughts

Having used top of the line Bauer skates for many years, switching from 1X to SuperTacks was a smooth transition. I instantly felt the improvements - better agility, and seamless fit. Regarding stiffnes SuperTacks provide all the great support you demand from a stiff skate though on the other hand are excellently balanced in a way they provide more agility / flexibility to me without sacrificing any lack in support, durability etc.
