  1. Putting aside that I haven't been able to get to a store that stocks these, I was wondering whether anyone here has gone to the Makos from CCM U+CLs? The CLs worked pretty well for me because they were so moldable. I had volume problems in Vapors and Supremes, but actually found some comfort and had the volume problem solved in the Nexus. I've been wearing 7.5Ds in all of these. However, I'm always interested in whatever comes next. So if there's anyone who went from CLs or even the Nexus, who have a comparison to make in fit, volume, and sizing, I'd be really interested. Also, I was wondering about the wisdom of possibly going to a wider skate. The toe box is another problem area for me (it is often too narrow), and so I was thinking that perhaps a wider, but more moldable skate might be a good choice. Anyway, interested what you guys think.
  2. I agree. Nice. Nice that they're using black thread too.
  3. Well, now that you mention it, its actually got the same pattern that the Widow has. It does have the Diablo taper.
  4. Thanks. I think there was some speculation about what kind of Warrior stick Horton was using when he first started using them and gave up his Eastons. I can tell you that this is definitely a Diablo and not just some paintjob. Its got the shorter taper than the Widows. The curve is sweet. I don't get all the talk about paint jobs either. Sure there are guys using old sticks made to look like the current sticks, but in the case of the RS, I think people forget that hockey players in the NHL aren't all that different than we are, they want to try the latest and greatest too. The RS worked for Krecji, so he abandoned the TotalOne and looks like he did his best to mask that he was using the RS. If anything, in his case, it actually WAS a paint job. He was a Bauer guy using the newest Easton and wasn't advertising it.
  5. Also picked up a Nathan Horton Diablo. The curve is very similar to those Letang and Fisher Prostocks that were on ebay recently. Looks like a 270 flex to me....
  6. Yeah, I think that computer rendering threw people off. That rendering looks like a S19 with a RS paint job. Mine looks exactly like yours, so I'm pretty content that I picked up a RS. That its David Krecji's is a bonus. And as I said, Krecji has no logical reason in the world to be using anything other than an RS. Oh, and because I'm going to use it (and he uses a longer stick than I do), I took off his tape job and noticed that the sticker was still partially intact under the tape. What's left says NHL GR KRECJI R BO8. He hacked off the rest. These are made in Mexico, btw. I wish I knew the flex. It seems fairly stiff.
  7. Well, it is unlike any Easton stick in looks or feel that I have. And I have them all. And it makes no sense given the timing of krecji's switch that he went to anything but the RS. That also explains why he blacked out all the yellow.
  8. 012. The stick is game used and cut. That's what's left of the barcode.
  9. No. But most importantly, it feels nothing like an SE16. It is much lighter feeling. And nothing like the EQ50. And its not an ST, and it doesn't have the obvious elliptical taper of the S19. I know that some of you really believe that all these RS's are repainted sticks, but give me one good explanation why David Krecji, who is a Bauer guy and who was using a TotalOne prior to this, gave up the TotalOne for this stick at the exact time that the RS was launched. A) Its a RS and he liked it. But because he's a Bauer guy, he sprayed over the Easton markings. B) Its some other Easton stick that he could have played with all year painted like an RS and then he decided that he'd go paint over that. I'm going with A. And because I have every other Easton stick sitting here in my closet and none of them look or feel like this one, I'm going to go with its not anything other than what it says it is.
  10. I found some old stuff out in the garage. I couldn't get over how heavy some of these are. Used to love these skates! And to that Krecji RS I picked up: Haven't figured out the curve equivalent exactly yet, but its pretty similar to a Datsyuk, I think. Krecji spray painted all the yellow Easton paint flat black. But it is definitely an RS underneath: After I cleaned it up:
  11. I had a pair of carbon retail ones, but couldn't tell you when they were actually made. When I received the custom ones, I was surprised at just how large they were so my perception of what I was getting could have been colored by both the earlier pair of Creepers I no longer had, and those custom Savard Hitmen that I have. I didn't recall those retail Creepers as being particularly tight fitting either, but I'm positive that I don't remember them as being as cavernous as the ones I got from the Custom shop. I may not be completely right about this analogy, but I do have examples of all four of these, so I'd say that those Savard Hitmen and the narrow Franchises are similar in hand width, while the Creepers and the standard Franchises are similar in their width.
  12. Great! And if I cared more, I'd wonder why if that were so, you resorted to IW's description of the glove. But I don't. The true purpose of my replies has been to clarify what you said. And I'm quite confident that nobody reading this thread is now going to be surprised when they order a Creeper and don't get a contoured, "very tight fitting" glove as you described them to be. Have a nice day.
  13. I'm pretty sure I disagreed with your description of how the glove fits. I'm not the only one. I don't think I took issue with your perception of how they fit on your hands, even if it sounds like your expertise comes from trying them in a store.
  14. You find providing information on how a glove fits in a "questions and answers" thread useless? Okay. Well, I think that telling people who are thinking about plunking down $200 on a custom glove that I disagree with your assessment that "The Creepers fit much tighter to the hand - they are designed to fit the contour of your hand." An assessment, which frankly, is just a regurgitation of what IW website says and not very accurate.... Then of course you clarified that to say "tighter" not "much tighter." That clarification wouldn't have happened if I hadn't disagreed, so you would have left bad information here for other people to find. Pretty unhelpful in a questions and answers thread, huh? And since it seems like at least two other people who have also recently actually purchased custom Creepers seem to agree with me and disagree with you, I'd say that this might be actually pretty helpful to anyone reading this thread and seeking ANSWERS from people who actually have ordered and own a custom Creeper glove (something which, apparently you have not done). Especially since the Creeper is a discontinued glove and people can't just run to the local store and try them on for size. Maybe you should learn not to take disagreement so personally.
  15. The creepers aren't super snug at all. They're a very wide fitting glove. I don't find franchises to fit like bauers either due to the amount of soft padding bauers have inside the glove that franchises don't. I also find that Bauer 4 rolls seem to have shorter feeling fingers. They feel differt on. You'll also feel differently in a narrow versus standard width franchise. Try them on. Or find a place you can return easily. I'm not a fan of the fit of Easton 800s. They just didn't feel right to me. As for Hitmen and Creepers, here's the Hitmen: and here's the Creeper. You don't even need to stick your hand in the glove to tell there's a big difference in the fit.
  16. Why would it be at all helpful to anyone to disagree over pm? You basically quoted Warrior's description of the creeper, when in reality, the glove has just as much volume as the standard franchise and measures exactly the same across the back of the hand. The rolls are cut to a more anatomical design but the current creepers are not a tight fitting glove at all. But you're right, I'd suggest people try them on first too. Then they would see which one of us is correct. The only way the creeper is going to feel "much cozier" on anyone else's hand is if they previously been wearing a standard franchise with the padding cut out from the back of the hand.
  17. Well, I was expecting the Creeper to fit more like the Hitman did and they don't. The Creeper is a big glove. If someone read your description and were expecting a contoured, tighter fitting glove like the X60, the TotalOne, one95 (or the Hitman), they're going to be sorely disappointed. The Creeper is as wide across the back of the hand as the standard Franchise. I have a pair of custom Hitman and THEY'RE much tighter fitting and conform more to the contour of the hand. The Creeper looks like the Hitman, but the dimensions are quite a bit larger.
  18. As an owner of both custom Franchises and Creepers, I would say that the Creepers really do not fit tighter to the hand. They're as roomy as the Franchise in my experience. Just a different cut. It is not like comparing Bauer 4 rolls to Vapor X60s. Volumewise, Creepers are pretty large, definitely roomier than Narrow Franchises.
  19. That auction will be interesting to watch, especially since my pair are in so much better shape.
  20. I grabbed a pair of the Bruins ones. I'm pretty sure they were the last pair of those.
  21. It might be more about what I bolded than anything, since I've encountered a lot of dumbasses who don't know anything about what products they're selling working at the LHS too. I've seen geniuses from the LHS pull the eyelets out of $800 skates because they haven't got a clue, so I'm pretty sure being "moronic" is not limited to the customers.
  22. How do you like the eq50 protective stuff? Are the shoulders relatively low profile (like the st16) because they look big in the catalog. And what are the elbows comparable to? I had the s19s, but thought the elbow cap was ridiculously huge and it had that weird bump at the joint. And what's the difference, if you know, between the eq50 elbow and the eqPro elbow? Thanks! And nice stuff!
  23. I agree. I like them and I like the white on white. I've done black on black too. Subtle is sometimes nice.
  24. I didn't say overpriced. I said there's an upcharge for pro colorways. And not a particularly steep one. I've paid it. Happily. What I'm saying is that there's not much of a difference, aside from the colors, between the vapor xxxx that they're selling and the retail pro vapor xxxx. The samsonovs may very well be his, but when 5 pairs showed up on eBay on the same day as 8 other pro color styled vapor xxxx's did, along with the exact same pair with "hurricanes" stitched into them, I get suspicious about whether a smu order didn't just come in. We're now belaboring the point I'm trying to make, and that is, tsr's vapor xxxx's aren't built differently than the retail pro ones, other than the colors used. Whether the samsonovs they're also selling are actually pro stock or not, they're also built the exact same way.
