  1. My show last week: Set 1: The Spirit Of Radio; Time Stand Still; Presto; Stick It Out; Leave That Thing Alone; Workin' Them Angels; Faithless; BU2B; Freewill; Marathon; Subdivisions. Set 2: Tom Sawyer; Red Barchetta; YYZ; Limelight; The Camera Eye; Witch Hunt; Vital Signs; Caravan; Love 4 Sale; Closer To The Heart; 2112 Overture / Temples Of Syrinx; Far Cry Encore: La Villa Strangiato; Working Man Just fantastic show before, during and after the live performance. These guys are still fun and I encourage any fan to see them!
  2. Nice score! Sometimes it pays to listen to terrible radio. Does it not? I listen to radio infrequently myself but last month I won two tickets to Rush currently touring with their Moving Pictures live performances. But I had planned on going and needed three tickets. I called both guys first to make darn sure that there would be three of us. So I may sell the other two tickets. Roger comes through my area with The Wall in late October. We bought the cheapest seats but were fortunate enough to get front row, upper balcony directly in front of the stage. Many arenas have such step seating these days so I think our seats are darn good. Now I just have to avoid any talk and gossip about the Waters tour for the next several months so I can go into the performance with open and unspoiled opinions. But I swear to Crom, if he disappoints me... Cheap Trick was in March, Jeff Beck last month, Rush in July and Roger Waters in October. Something has to give pretty soon though. I got a Dio concert dvd yesterday for $4, unopened. Really weird. Like I almost walked right up to the thing on the shelf with a hundred other various movies. Rest in peace Ronnie. And thank you so much for your music.
  3. NASA Causeway View for STS-131. Sitting along the Banana River for a 6:21 liftoff of the shuttle Discovery on April 5, 2010
  4. I have a problem with a few guys I play with who instinctfully try to block shots with their sticks while on defense. One of the guys is quite good at it so it usually works but I try to tell them that the risk is too great, espcially when they are about three feet in front of me and to give me the chance to see the puck clearly and stop it myself. Yesterday it happened twice by two seperate guys helping on defense both resulting in goals. Better positioning on my part may have helped but lately I have been pointing out these errors to some of the guys who just don't seem to understand sometimes. I was not feeling well yesterday but fortunately my teams had better offense then goaltending and everything worked for us.
  5. I'm in a pretty good mood this week. Rediscovering the music of Me First and The Gimme Gimmes, Queen and The Who. Our CHL team put on a poor display but sweet victory last night. And I have been using a very nice Sigma 50-500mm lens the past several days, on loan from a cousin. Really like this lens. The cost is too great for me and last night I got surprising results with a much older, manual lens, a Five Star 500mm. In this situation it compares very favorably to the "Bigma" Photography and life in general for me is very sweet for me. Thanks for reading.
  6. I have a trip planned for March's launch. Everything was going so well for this schedule just to be delayed by cloud cover. That could easily be us next month. A few days wait will be no issue for us as I have built that into the trip. I wish the trip was see a launch or don't come home but limitations are beginning to pile up. I really would like to see one of the final batch of launches with my son and mother beside me and really regret not trying harder sooner.
  7. And see... Think of me what you will but it is times such as those that my family and I are fortunate for what little grip I have on reality, such as it were. At the very least if I had a paintball gun with me during those times... I was just walking around the neighborhood with my children and for the first time witnessed a Prius going fast. Now of course he did not stop at a stop sign; most Prius drivers do not and he was zipping through a residential area much faster than the posted speed limit. I mean Prius drivers normally driive ten miles slower than the posted speed limits no matter where but not this -- Oh. Wait. Sometimes when I type some words, I get a warning so maybe I should just stop ty
  8. See what you can do with a remote shutter release, a couple tripods and a goalie mask?
  9. If I told my sister in law she had a fantastic body, I wonder if she would hold it against me? See what I did there?
  10. Anyone know if Outhouse is played at The Staples Center during King's games? I got to watch the Kings Blues game Saturday and I could have sworn they played "Bleed". Sample the album and buy it! A local band from the 90's that could have had a larger national footprint. Looks like a few very, very inexpensive copies available at Amazon still. You will not regret spending even $4 on this disc.
  11. I played two games back to back yesterday, both games ending with the scores tied and shootouts to determine the winners. Facing something like a total of 15 shooters in both shootouts, I only allowed one goal. It was pretty fun being a goaltender yesterday. Everyone playing is pretty friendly bunch and after the first round in the second shootout I warned the opposing goaltender that they (the shooter) would most likely try more top shelf shots this round. The second shooter on his second attempt did try glove side just as I thought but I got just enough of it to knock away. And wouldn't you know it one of the least skilled players on our team who had frustrated me more than once during the game was the one to score the winning sudden death shootout goal. A couple of fun games yesterday, indeed.
  12. In school days, we vandalized a kid's house with eggs and the next day at school he was trying to recruit me to join the posse that was going to sit outside waiting for whoever threw the eggs to return to the scene. Double hilarious. I should have said "Ok." and then gone around one by one knocking off the members of the posse with my Navy Seal/Ninja skills saving the original target for last. Another vandalism of that sort did leave me feeling guilty as later I could imagine how the parents may have felt and why they thought their son was a target. But that's what he gets for messing with an idiot like me! Wait. That did not come out right.
  13. You park yourself in front of the net at pickup/shinny??? We're gettin' a li'l fur away frum unwritten rulez but I don't see much wrong with that either. Still just as fun when someone is screening the goalie and picking up trash. Just don't match your stick with my helmet when you spin around to get the puck behind the net. And I generally don't poke guys standing in front of me unless they touch me a second time.
  14. I really don't have much of an issue with these under certain conditions however. More than two hacks is uncalled for. I can understand the excitement and drive that is involved in wanting to score but more than two taps at a covered puck is unnecessary in my book and three might get a response from me. If I am on my knees and have it held with glove near my stomach, might let you get away with one tap of your stick at my chest or glove but if it is too hard and more than once, you would get a response from me. Head shots should not occur at all in warm up. During a game if I see you smile and then let loose some cob web clearer, I will shake the first one off but you are gonna get tripped if I see it again. But that is me.
  15. More unwritten rules: If you bring your girl to hockey, tell her to expect to see a little flesh whilst we change. And remember that we may have a slightly larger penis than you. Now we are not going to change right in front of her but she should be warned that sweaty clothes must be removed in favor of drier attire. Don't block the goaltender's access to the fan the entire time you are "on the bench". Sometimes that little bit of moving air in our general direction is refreshing so try not to take all of it. We really cannot emphasis the dark and light jersey thing enough. It's so simple but always ignored. Just put on the jersey to match sides once teams are chosen. Don't make us break out with the pennies pull overs.
