Chadd 916 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 Light is never something I would say about Tackla pants. In any case a few ounces here and there really don't matter in any beer league. If you want light, get a pair of low end pants. The only way a pant will reduce your speed is if they restrict your movement.
sogaduch 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 im liking the new tackla pants the 951. thats a nice lil pant. good protection and everything
hockechamp14 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 Really? I heard the Bauer 3000,5000,6000 series are super heavy! I think I'm going to look at the Tackla pants. I heard they are light and good for speed. well the old 5000/3000 might have been heavy, but the newer 6000 are defenately light. I don't know what light compares to, but compared to all the other mid to high end pants they seemed light.
Cavs019 710 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 My 6000s are feathers and they provide adequate protection for what im playing. Midget AAA/Prep. If you know how to take a hit the protection with the 6000 is there.
MNdgame 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 I have the 8k and I think it's a very well-padded pant. There aren't any gaps in protection and the tailbone is well-padded. It seems like if you'd adjust the length of the pads that there would be a gap in the padding. It sort of seems like mine has a crease where the hanging pad meets the up top, kind of like a crease in a baseball glove or goalie glove, I havent gotten a puck there yet though. Other than that the pad it self goes down to my shin pads and touches it. Where my pads meet my shin pads in weird because it doesnt feel right if I tuck then in or tuck them over, any advice? DeI 18 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 Another for 6000s. They are extremely comfortable, light, and protective. Another plus is that, for a good pair of pants, they're not that hard on the wallet. If you have the $$ though, I would suggest the Nike Quest 1s.
MNdgame 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 I must be out of it because I didn't understand a word of that. Doesnt it seem like that if you tried to make the pads on 8k pants come down further that there would be some protection issues?

warrior37 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 you think going from 520s to a new pair of ccms would be a smooth transition because i tried a pair last year and hated them?
Chadd 916 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 I hated the CCM pants over the last few years. I thought Corry said the new pro tacks are "based on" the old supra design.

I think they are designed to go up, not down...easier to subtract than to add length...

I don't know of any light tanks, so yes. Well some people refer to thier light sticks, skates, or gloves as tanks, so I was curious if you meant in terms of protection and durability vs. weight.
