Ripshot hockey blade

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know of the Ripshot X-carbon blade because over here in the UK they seem to be selling rapidly it comes in 3 curves-

Yzerman equivalent

Shanahan Equivalent

Modano equivalent

It only was 150 grams which is 5 grams less than the z carbon blade

I sold a lot of the Ripshot blades last year. All I can say is they are very durable, the carbon used is not thin on the bottom like the eastons. Yes, they only come in those three curves. For the price I was selling them ($34.99), they were a good value.

The former proshop at our inline rink sold tons of those blades last year (it IS the orange blade if I'm correct?). I never tried the blades myself but some guys who bought them a year ago still have the blades and are going strong.

DO anybody saw their wood blade...Standard wood blade at 135 grame(it not even tapered..) ...I think it a error...if not damn...i think i will stop using composite blade..and use wood blade if their lighter!!

Only problem..it really hard to find a iginla pattern...beside the recchi on the V-20 blade...

And what about the christian blade beiing super light??Do somebody have the websites of christian??(i search it christian hockey on google..never found something!)

It is odd to note that they have a true one-piece that weighs 625 grams, yet, they have a 300 gram shaft and a 150 gram blade...... doesn't take a mathmetician to realize they they have some room for improvement on their one-piece

No it doesn't take a mathmetician.... but lets see,

485 gram stick last 31 days

625 gram stick lasts 2+ years

hmmmm.

Seems the maker of the 485 gram stick has some room for improvement!

I say, to each is own, Some like durability, some like the perceived but questionable performance gains of the lighter sticks.

The Ripshot 1 pieces will last a long time. If you are the average Joe beer leaguer who has to get every sale approved by his wife, then the Ripshot is for you. They are a tank for sure.

Haha, it's funny you said that Jimmy. All the older guys on my team always talk about hiding new purchases from their wives. And they love breaking sticks, cuz it means they can go out and get something new without having to convince the wives. Not like us young guys who just go out and get a new 1piece cuz it's Monday. Haha.

haha, that's true, but i can't help wondering (i'm only 15 so i guess i wouldn't really know) how many wives prefer the husband to be spending money on hockey sticks than on another woman :P

Well, considering the second part isn't even something that most of them want to think about.....

That's the argument I've been making for Busch sticks for years (durability, and in the case of Busch, puck feel), and Busch is even lighter than the Ripshot OPS.

However, my point was more that they have a shaft that is 300g, and a blade that is 150g, it seems to reason they could easily make an ops, of some fashion or another, that would be under 500g.

BUT.... perhaps I'm being simplistic.

you do have a gvalid point there. I've cut up their blades and the blades on the OPS, they are identical, so the extra weight is in the OPS shaft for sure, prob how they fuse/wrap it.

hehe, I even have a bar code that will ring up a receipt as gasoline, just for those type guys! And when they special order something, I'm never permitted to call the home number, always the work number. We aim to please. :-)

What, you think we can survive just selling hockey equipment?? Diversification is the key! I also run beers sales out the back door too. :-)

hahaha...my mom gets mad when my dad buys me a OPS, but she always checks the bank records so $150 in gas would be weird.... though she hasnt seen my $140 Bluetooth keyboard my dad got me a week ago......
