Tried to find a weight spec on it (albeit didn't try that hard) but couldn't find anything. The review section of the board didn't have anything either........

I help run a ball hockey league, and I think this might be an interesting buy for some of my friends.........would care more about weight/feel than flex/durability.

For $40, sounds like a "Why not?".

I have messed around with one of these sticks. I can tell u that the blade is "soft" for a composite, and the 100 flex seems more like a Easton 85 to me. If your a heavy shooter u may wanna steer clear of it, but again it is 40 bucks so..........

I've gotten good feedback from the guy who's centering my line right now. He's in his 40's (at least) and had been using wood all his life until he picked up one of the Gears.

I have it used it for roller with no issues..the blade is a bit flexy for me for ice.. but its an ok stick and holds up well on concrete floors as well (it was tested primarily outdoors at the rink in Cypress)..I have a test stick my gf has been using since early '04 ..and while she isn't that tough on gear per se..it has held up through the myriad hacks and whacks of her rec league..

Does anyone know if any of the Gear patterns is a Sakic clone? It looks like the Reskey might be but I can't really tell from the pics. I figured I'd ask and see if someone knew before spending $$$ on the stick and finding out for myself.

the blade is paper thin, it is too thin

They should not be permitted to do such thin blade since when you hook, it can really hurt or injured the opponent.( I know stick are not supposed to be utilize to hook, but there is a lot of hooking) It's like the one on the Flyers way long ago who had a sharp toe( > this was his toe) and they passed a rule which interdicted to use this anymore.

You want to see a thin blade? Check out one of the old Koho 2270 or 2290 Kombo blades - the tops of those were crazy thin. The CCM 1052 was pretty thin too - all thinner at the top than the Gear blades.

Anybody know their website address? I want to look at their stuff but when I do a search on google and yahoo, I just get gear like in "equipment" stuff. Their name isn't too good for an internet search.

Gear is a brand produced by HG, similar to Perani's having WinnWell, Great Skate with ProStar, Monkey with Titan. etc..they bought the rights to the name a couple years ago..

the stick itself is made by the same people who do Fury/Flite

I played around with one and it is what it is... a $40 stick. Felt a bit whippy even for me (who likes whippy sticks).

I wouldn't buy one personally, but thats just a personal preference.

I would use it over most other entry level price point OPS's on the market...the blade is too flexy for me on the ice..but to knock around and play some roller..not too bad...and a good deal less than some of the others that are highly similar...
