Just went to see the new Adam Sandler movie yesterday, and must say that it was very funny. I had a "snow day" yesterday, so of course I had to see the movie on opening day ;)

Highly recomend it, two thumbs up

Just thought I'd let you guys know.

I go see movies at least 4 times a month with my buddies and we all agreed this was the best movie we have seen since Coach Carter which was also great i thought

I am curious to find out if you had seen the original version that was made in 1974. Did you find that many of the lines were the same? How exact was it?

I thought the original was pretty good.

This is taken from IMDB.com

I was surprised at how fun the remake was, although it is a superficial kind of fun. The original had better casting and stronger character development. Reynolds and Eddie Albert are so wonderful in their roles, Sandler and the new warden are pretty damn lame in comparison. And the original spent more time building the characters, so that by the end, the film really resonated in a way the remake does not.

This movie was good, had some funny parts. The best was the hockey line though.

As for Coach Carter, while it was a solid movie, I was dissapointed that only one person was shot ;)

I actually didn't see the original, but I went with my dad, and he did. He said that they were similar, like the plot was the same, but I doubt that there were Bentley GTs in '74. I probably gonna rent the original sometime soon.

I saw it Friday. There were some very funny parts, such as the Dan Patrick cameo. Some of the parts were very cheesy but I'd still recommend it. Now I just have to see the original.

"Dear God, please help me with this kick. If you do I'll stop cheating on my wife with black men. Amen."

The orginal was good. It wasn't a comedy, despite having a couple of funny lines. Remaking it as a comedy starring Adam Sandler just doesn't seem quite right.

Casting Adam Sandler as somebody who is badass just doesn't work. And don't bring up Happy Gilmore. That was before he made Spanglish, The Wedding Singer, and 50 First Dates.
