Law Goalie 147 Report post Posted December 14, 2009 It's aimed at the majority of the population who watch TV and are aware of beer-league hockey to some extent but are entirely on the outside looking in.For those in it, I suppose it's intended as a slight amplification of life as they know it.I still say Rent-A-Goalie has this covered. technophile 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2009 If you like the Beer League tv show you might like this documentary being made...Hockey Night in TexasNo actors, all guys in the movie are real players.I actually know several of those guys; it was shot here in Austin, at the rink (and in the league) I play in. I'm not in the movie, unfortunately; I hadn't moved up to that division yet. :(
Ahriman 1 Report post Posted December 14, 2009 Nolin described The Ramsay Downholers as "Sex in the City for the Canadian male."perhaps the most profoundly confusing statement ever uttered.

Who'da thunk that I had anything in common with these folks? :D

DVD Release or something maybe? VHS EVEN!?It had its world premiere a few weeks ago at the Austin Film Festival (entire teams from the local league went and watched it ;)). I think they're still working out distribution; hopefully there will be at least a DVD release soon, and getting it in actual theaters would be awesome. DVD Release or something maybe? VHS EVEN!?Here's an old trailer from it. I remember seeing it long ago, but never heard anything else about it. I'd like to see it. Best quote for the beer league goons and enforcers: "There's a lot of people here that don't understand how far away they are from being good."
