Bauer 7500 blade

Recommended Posts

I bought this blade last weekend as the blade in my L-2 was seeing its last days. Picked up this blade at the LHS, loved it instantly. Very lightweight, Hossa curve which I love. So I bought it, put it in, and have used it twice since then. So far, I love it, but has anyone else used it and do you have any thoughts or opinions on it? Good? Bad? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Erik

OK, then, I have one. I haven't used it in a while, but I bought 3 on sale and liked the pattern (Gagne).

I sold one, broke one, and still have one left.

The one that broke became a problem when the graphite started to seperate from the wood. CCM 952 sticks had this same problem (the graphite inlay/stiffener would eventually pull away from the hosel).

The one I still have is/was quite good for the most part. Still pretty stiff, but has shown signs of fatigue. The ABS / plastic insert doesn't do much to enhance puck feel (over normal, full wood blades), but the blade is relatively light and the pucks don't bounce off the blade like they do with some composites, such as a Zcarb.

For the money? I am not let down that I bought it.

Those aren't the current 7500s.

The current 7500s are just tapered wood blades with a fiberglass wrap. Very light and decent durability in my experience. Both of my 7500s have outlasted the synthesis wood blade I had. I got around a month out of one playing 3-5 times a week. I prefer them over any of the other tapered wood blades available in my local shops, which is basically just synthesis blades.

Didnt like that blade at all. The graphite inlay came out for me too and it seemed like it had less feel then my synthesis blades. i also hated the hossa curve so i curved to so a drury clone and when i heated it up the graphite completely came off.

It was great at first, but the top of the blade chipped like a bitch. after the first chip there were more, and it cracked in less than a month....ive never had this problem with a blade before, kind of strange

I got a PM9 (Hossa?) 2 wks ago (with the "0.520" logo) and I put it into a Response converted into a shaft. My other Response converted into a shaft has an R2 blade (Nash).

The Bauer 7500 is lighter (higher balance point), and not as long. I liked the feel of it for stickhandling and receiving passes, and after 3 games I have not had problems with the graphite braids' rubbing off. I think I shoot slapshots better with slightly heavier blades, but I haven't shot enough with this blade to make an accurate comparison yet. I took a lot of faceoffs with this blade, and I am not getting more wear on this one than with others.

The R2 looks more robust, though, with the kevlar strips along the bottom and the tighter diagonal fibre (carbon fibre?) wrap. I shoot slapshots better with the R2.

Now, thanks to JR, we know that they are all made by the same manufacturer!

I never used one...but always whanted...but never had chance to have a good curve for me...(between a modano and inginla)

What you can do(this is what i do) i use a sicore synt in my r2xn10 but in all my other shaft i use cut off fit to tapered wood blade

Work perfectly!!
