PITCH Blade holders Sr/Jr

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had problems with the Pitch Blade holders in either the jr or sr sizes?

A buddy told me the bolts strip out and then the blade shifts up and down through the settings. That seems kinda unlikely to me but I dont really know how the holders are designed.

Also I am 5'7, 165lbs. I wear a jr skate, and have been told that I will always have problems with my skates because the jr's are not made to hold up to the skating of an adult. Is there any truth to this?

If so what can I do to get a pair of skates that can hold up?

wowsas you must have realllly small feet, I'm 5'3" 118 lbs and I'm in a senior (8.5. Mission to be exact). I have Mission S400's and I haven't had a problem with them yet, and have been using them since March, but not a whole lot, I'd say 30-40 times

Yeah, I wear a Bauer 5.5 or a Mission 6.0.

I thought at first when I bought my XX's I was lucky to save a 100 or so on skates but after all the problems I have had with them I am pretty gun shy on what to get for new skates. I really like the L7's though...

Mission makes the best steel according to most people. I've never heard of anyone having troubles of any kind on the PITCH blade holders, and the steel is praised by people for it's durability and ability to hold an edge.

Really liked my PITCH's so far(like more than lightspeeds). I have had some minor problems with the back bolt getting shifty and letting the pitch adjustment slide. To fix it all I did was take the bolt out and put it back in. I guess it might of just got loose or something. This has only happend once or twice ( had missions with pitch for over a year now). So if this does happen to you it is fixable. L7's sound awsome so far.

One of the guys on my team has been using junior S300s for about 6 months now without any problems. He skates in 2 or 3 beer leagues and is on the ice up to 4 times a week. Just keep the bolt tight and you shouldn't have any problems at all.

Keep in mind that any skate that uses hardware to hold in the steel can loosen, not just Mission. Just keep them tight and you will have no problems.

A little blue loc-tite usually helps the situation

that happened to my purefly's after a while but I barely noticed it until I got another pair of purefly's and it felt funny skating in them. Took a look at my old ones and saw the problem

Ibought the skates on ebay .The Pitch holder and Pure Fly's were brand new.I don't know if Mission Put this skate together or It was someone's experiment either way I love the feel. I got some S500's and didn't like the way the boot felt, so i'm back to the Pure fly's.I'd wear these skates forever. Anyone have 11.5 Pure Fly's for sale let me know
