Products You Would Like to See

Recommended Posts

Sideview mirrors on each side of the helmet. :)

Cheaper products...not cheaper quality but a reasonable price on things that don't cost anywhere near what we pay for them....I know, won't happen, but something I'd like to see.

i think some of the products are reasonably priced, im over in sydney, australia right now and i just looked at some hockey prices. a pair of vapor XXX sr skates that in canada would be priced at 699.99 in australia its 999 and a bauer 4000 helmet which goes for 79.99 cad goes for 150 aud

There is no WAY those items are resonably priced here in Aus. I don't know about Sydney, but Melbourne has just lost a hockey section to a MAJOR retailer and Ross at Puckhandlers no longer stocks anothing top or second from top of the range anymore. The simple fact is the cost prices in Aus are way too much little though the RRP!

Eg: I bought my Vapor XV gloves over Epuck, total cost (shipping and taxes) was 128.00 AUD, when I priced a pair of X gloves 2 months later they were 280.00 AUD from Puckhandlers!!! How is that a resonable price???

Actually, $999.99 Can. isn't too far off the Canadian MSRP.

This is a great thread. I wonder if someone will actually read it and do something...

anyways, a few things:

- less velcro in padding - I find it always gets caught up in my jersey

- less elastic and something more resistant to stretching - use neoprene or something, or use straps with buckles - tighter

- some sort of skate "try before you buy" program - i know that CCM and Easton have this now, but they really need to expand it

- mold-able elbow pads, ideally with a deep pocket for the elbow itself - if they can do it with skates, maybe apply the same thing to elbow pads. I also wonder if they can use laces to tie up the elbow pads.

- foam inserts for some pads to shore up loose spots - everyone is built differently

- hockey bags with lots of built-in vents - allows your stuff to dry quicker and inside the bag

A visor that doesn't fog...ever...would be nice!

i heard putting shampoo on the visor works as a sort of anti fog ,i did that last night and ill try it in an hour when i have drop in ,ill let you guys know how it works. last week i wore a visor a drop in and it was my first time wearing one on the ice and it wasnt fun not being able to see anything so ill try the shampoo thing this week and if that doesnt work im back to cages until next year.

something like the Brine rhinoskin for ice hockey

I don't think anything can get any more comfy than my Rhinoskin. That would probably be my answer too.

Replaceable clarino on my 735's would be nice

Make custom ordering more widely available. I don't know in what capicity, but I think it'd be cool.

And also, keep some discontinued models available for ordering. So many people find a great product that they would never stray from but have no choice because it get's discontinued. i.e.) 652/752 skates, 795 ultra whites, first gen. UL shafts, maybe first/second gen. bauer 5000 skates etc.

I think there was a "what would you bring back thread" even.

I've tried all the tricks including shampoo and pledge.

I find the best products are the sprays, but once some sweat hits them you're toast. I keep the spray and a towel on the bench. If the rink is humid I have to touch it up between the second and third period.

I'd love to see a cool vented helmet with pouchest that can stay cold, almost like an air conditioned helmet. Also maybe something like pump gloves, remember the early 90's, all the basketball shoes had the pumps, maybe something like that for a glove. I'm just throwing out ideas here and there.

I wish that all replacement blades would have hozels with lengths normalized against the lie so that the effective length of the blades were standardized.

This way trying out a new blade would never effectively change the length of my sticks.

Hell, if all replacement blades with the SAME lie were made so that the height of the blade + length of the hosel was constant, I would be happy.

I think it would be cool if someone like TPS cpuld make a pressurized shaft/stick. I.E. TPS baseball bats (genIX). Except I think it would be cool to put a nozzle where a consumer could release air (lower the pressure) and pump air back into it. THat way, if we dont like the flex on our stick/shaft we could just change the flex by raise the pressure inside or by lowering it.

... as opposed to buying a new stick/shaft, or playing in regret or disatisfaction.

Some hockey tape to last longer than say,a period.

That's my number one hope. And for glove's palms to last longer.

I just want Daoust back so I can wear the some Gilmour skates. Blue Holders are never a bad thing. I can't think of anything "new", I'm more of a vintage fan really. Just keep the look the same, but improve the quality.

Expand the varieties of tapered shaft and blade combos. Also, stop making equipment like pants and gloves soo flashy. Why do they have to put silver pipeing on pants? I think thats soo ugly. Also silver , bright yellow , white, ect gloves? ugly too. Its all just my opinion tho.

That's what I like to hear. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Like I said before, I wish CCM would bring back the old school 655s or 752 Kevlars-probably my most favorite skate to this day. Stickwise, I wish Easton would bring back the Pro Gold aluminums.
