Your NHL Teams Rumors

I cant wait for player transactions to start as this should be one crazy off season for this.

I thought it might be a good idea to find out what might be going on across the NHL with your teams.

For the Avs the rumors are:

- Blake to be bought out.

- Naslund and Forsberg to be signed.

- Khabi to be signed.

- Foote in or out depending on the rumor

- Gratton and Kono to be bought out.

Leafs- This is what I've just read on Spector's. He usually has some sort of truth behind his stories. I'm sure there have been a lot more rumors in the Toronto media.

-Scott Niedermayer is going to be signed

-Glen Murray, Jason Allison, Lindros, and Selanne are also being sought after

-Niewy wants to stay with the Leafs, but there won't be room if the Leafs sign any big name FAs

- And of course, Naslund is going to the Leafs. High price UFA + Toronto media= its a sure thing

For the most part I have a feeling that most teams will lose big names then turn around and sign an equal big name for the cheap.

Its probably going to be one huge session of musical chairs.

I love the fan rumors where all of the big names come to their city. Especially Pittsburgh, they barely broke even at $23M and revenue sharing isn't going to help them enough to warrant a $30M team salary

St. Louis Blues rumors are that Tkachuk and Weight might be bought out, more likely Tkachuk than Weight.

Also, that Pronger will probably stay considering that the team is for sale and no one want to completely blow it up and ruin a potential sale.

I haven't heard too much, though. And it is hard to believe much that I do hear. I haven't heard anything about who the Blues want to sign to fill in, either.

Kosy covered alot of the Leaf rumours, personally for them I expect:

- Nolan bought out (going out on a limb, eh )

- Lindros, Roberts, Niewy, Domi (god I hope not), and a UFA D whose good, but not great, to be signed

- Steen, Wellwood and Cola make the team

- Tvelly to back-up Belfour

Cola - Pilar-Berg in a rotation.

I won't guess on forward because thats just nutty. I'm hoping JFJ does some good, its, IMO, his first chance to make an impact on this team. Seems like the Leetch deal was already made-up for him last year and thats all he's been able to do.

I really hope Nolan gets bought out. He definitely hasn't earned his $6 million or whatever a year. I like what you're thinking Eazy. I'd love to see Wellwood, Steen, and especially Cola get a chance to play. I'd like Roberts to come back, as long as he isn't slated to be a first liner. And as much as I like Domi, I think in the future he'll just take up roster space. I'd much rather have a spot for Steen and Wellwood to play in than Domi.

Problem with Domi, is he seems to always make friends with the best players. Selanne, Sundin (last contract), now Niewy and Roberts. He seems like a good guy and he is a great team guy, but Belak can do everything he does and more. His skating is close, he's bigger, tougher, smarter and I think can learn to put the puck in better. I agree with Roberts, Quinn has alot of trouble putting lines together in my opinion. I'd like to get Sundin some first line wingers. Maybe Lindros and O'Neil :).... I can't wait till the signings begin.

Justin - how are the Kovy rumours in MTL? I can't see them landing both Kariya and Kovalev.

I forgot to add that I also heard O'Neill is being looked at, as well. Ideally I'd like to see Bertuzzi in TO. He'd work well with Sundin on the first line. The thing I like about Belak is that he can play D in a pinch. I'm not sure if Perrott is still under contract, but he isn't bad either. He won the fastest skater and hardest shot on the Leafs. Are there still Kariya rumors in TO? I remember there were a lot right before the lockout.

Chadd. the pens didnt bring in any revenue, because they had a crap product on the ice. But you're right, theres a reason they were nearly bankrupt in the first place, they need a new stadium.

If they cut ticket prices they may be able to increase attendance but will it be enough to offset the price cut? During the loclout I learned their local TV deal is one of the best in the league, nearly $10M per year.

I'd like to see if Bure can suit up again. He's really a good player, but I guess with a busted up knee, the Miami cocaine he's snortin, and the Russian mob-ties, it could be tough to actually come back to the ice to make a living.
