if you had read my post 5 before this one you would have read that mcarty, hatcher, and whitney were placed on waiver to be bought out. good news though rumors are flying that yzerman will be back. datskut(sp) has said that detroit is his first choice. as some have hoped lang has not been bought out.

There is a rumour in Vancouver that Forsberg would play in Vancouver with Naslund, based on Forsberg's telling somebody that he wanted to play with Naslund. Both newspapers and most of the radio stations are leading with this rumour.

This is a pretty weak rumour, though, because Naslund is a free agent also and they could both go anywhere.

I would be shocked to find either one of those guys in an Avs or Canucks jersey as they would know it would piss off the fans.

Where else would they fit? Who has the money, and appeal? I'm more than open top suggestions. I can't see them joining on one of the current teams. Not alot of guys want to take the two of them either.

L.A.? Flordia? Dallas looks like they might start making some cap room and might be interested some big name players, as it looks like Modano is moving on.

Calgary is going to have enough trouble getting their own people signed and keeping it under $30M. That's what they said they planned to spend.

About McCarty: maybe he will be one of the vets who get squeezed out by the salary cap, replaced with a younger, cheaper player.

L.A.? Flordia? Dallas looks like they might start making some cap room and might be interested some big name players, as it looks like Modano is moving on.

LA is rumoured to be after a D and looking to sign some of their own UFAs. Florida won't spend the money, not when they are a rebuilding team. Dallas is dumping salary, why would they add it? They want to go to a contender.

Nieds is going to let everyone take shot at getting him to let everyone feel they have a chance and even now he probably knows what team he really wants to play for. Either vancover or the devils since robinson is back and nieds loves him.

He's said there are teams he is willing to take a paycut to go to. If Nj was one of them, he'd be signed. It's out West or Philly as far as I'm concerned. LA may have an outside chance as they want a star D.

I think L.A. already has a star defenceman that knowone seems to mention in Lubomir Visnovsky. I can't really see Naslund and Forsberg going there but I can't see them playing anywere else together. In terms of L.A. it doesn't look like Allison, Carter, Palffy or Deadmarsh will be back which will free up some room. I think they can let Cechmanek go and give Garon a shot who played very well in Montreal and I was dissapointed to see leave but he deserves a shot to prove he's a #1 goalie in this league.

There was a clip in the local paper that he didn't want to take a chance and screw his knee again. He was responding to a question on whether he was going to play in Turino in 06.

St. Louis Blues rumors are that Tkachuk and Weight might be bought out, more likely Tkachuk than Weight.

Also, that Pronger will probably stay considering that the team is for sale and no one want to completely blow it up and ruin a potential sale.

I haven't heard too much, though. And it is hard to believe much that I do hear. I haven't heard anything about who the Blues want to sign to fill in, either.

Current word is Pronger will no longer be a Blue...and most likely in the next 24 hours...we'll see how true that holds up...

Gonna miss him if it's true...One of the VERY FEW guys in the league who can control the game, make a pin-point 60 ft outlet pass (especially now w/o the red line), play 32-36 minutes, and make every opposing player not want to step on the ice... game in & game out...
