Strong rumors indicate that both Naslund and Foppa want to come to NYR in a package signing type thing.

How could anyone not want that pair? Forsberg is only the biggest playoff performer in the league right now.

Making the playoffs would be a nice start for the Rangers. It would be interesting but I don't see the two of them taking much of a pay cut to play together and the Rangers would have 3 highly paid guys and a bunch of others near the minimum.

I will give you credit Theo you sticking to your opinions about Forsberg though I dont agree with most. Other people who use to make fun of him are now excited about the possiblity about him being on their team (other boards).

On that note YET ANOTHER rumors is that the Avs will annouce a Forsberg Nazzy signing on Monday. My guess they both sign with their current teams.

It's gonna be like Christmas on monday. :D I can't wait to see who Toronto gets. I'm thinking they grab Lindros for cheap, a star defensman, and a couple more decent forwards.

Ahhh, how can you watch the NBA as a replacment? LOL I like to play the sport, but if I'm interested in a game then I watch the last 10 minutes(or the last 2 ;) ). Sorry, I just can't stand the NBA.

As an Avs fan what are you hoping he does? I'd rather see him let Foppa walk, and sign Hjeduk and Tanguay. I think Foote will demand and get, more money than he's worth, but I really only get to see him play the 'Nucks and Internationally.

With the Leafs grabbing O'Neil, there seems to be more confidence in them re-signing Niewy and Roberts and for the money he signed, hopefully keep them in check as well.

Ponty- 2 years ago I would probably have a different opinion in terms of thinking about wanting him (despite my other questions about him), but the new direction is much different now. Foppa along with Jagr are the best in the world as far as offense, IMO.

Even with a youth movement you still need guys who have gone the distance in the playoffs and Forsberg is just that guy. Plus, having a Forsberg gives the youngsters a little room to learn and grow rather than being tossed into the fire.

I disagree, I think a team looking to rebuild would have to consider the idea of adding Forsberg for a year or two.

Forsberg is one of those guys you "cant fully get" unless you see him play everyday.

If he became a Ranger Theo I think you would laugh that you ever put him in the same class as Lindros. Just MHO.

With Lacroix? I honestly dont know what will happen. Best case he figues out how to get Foote, Foppa on the cheap while keeping Tanguay and Hejduk.

Then again thats too simple for him. I am expecting the unexpected. In the end at least I know the Avs GM is trying his best for the team and its fans.

If we lose Forsberg and Foote it will suck but at least I know we dont have that jerk Jacobs running the show.

If Forberg and Nazzy sign with the Avs its probable that Tanguay and Hejduk will be traded to save money for the cap. If Lacroix can do that signing AND keep those two then that would be something truley special.

Even with those guys, they still need help. I am 100% confident their forwards will be capable of scoring alot of goals, but they have no D. An Aucoin and a steady D would go a long way there. Jackman couldn't crack the Leafs top 6 and he is there #1. MA Fleury will be good, but he can't handle 45 shots a night. They need to have some of their youth in the line-up as well. Mario, Crosby, Recchi, Malkin take up 4 spots. Throw in Malone, Kraft and possibly Morozov, although I doubt he comes back and they are pretty stacked for the top 6, with the UFA additions I am confident they well get, they will be strong for Offense from 1-9, but they also want toughness and there 4th line looks like it'll have some. Not too many guys on their team now, and the guys they are looking to aqcuire are known to be great defensively. Not necessarily bad, but even with additions there D will need as much help as they can get. I'd try and unload Tarnstrom for a steady D. Theres no use for him now, they'll be better off on the PP using 5 fwds.

At least thats my team breakdown for them.

if the avs signed forsberg and naslund, they should think of dumping tanguay or hejduk for another solid defenseman. if they don't get foote back, blake can't hold up on defence all by himself. a veteran goalie would be another good idea for the avs to go along with abeischer, similar to osgood and vernon for the wings a while back.

Are Avs fan happy with ther idea of dropping Hjeduk and Tanguay in favour of Nassy and Foppa? I hear these rumours of getting another goalie as well. I don't understand, from everything I saw Aebby was great. Personally I though goaltending was your weakness for the past few years. I thought Roy was the reason for your elimination thew past couple years. Minny, LA, Detoit come to mind. I know he almost cost you 1 LA series and I believe did cost you another. My Avs memory is a little sketchy on some on the last few years, but I believe he was highly overrated as he came to retiring. He was great in his prime, key for your first cup, but he got weak and it seemed everyone was afraid to say it.

I hate the idea of getting rid of Tanguay or Hejduk. Sure, Nazzy would be awsome for a couple of years, but in the long run I think that they will be better off with Tanguay or Hejduk. I also agree that it would be nice to have a veteran goalie, but I thought that Aebischer was fine last year.
