Heat moulding Synergy skates

Recommended Posts

I just bought a pair or Synergy 900 skates and the only pair of 11.5's in the city were a D width. I tried them on at the LHS and they felt very snug becasue I probably could go with an E width. I've been walking around with them and was wondering if having the skates baked will make much of a difference? Will the skate's width feel wider after having them moulded?

Skates always feel better after being molded IMO. I like the feel of getting them molded a lot more than not having them molded.

maybe it only in your head...i know Nike is game-ready fit...but the owner bake my skate..so i'dont know if it was a good thing or not...IMO i don't feel a lot of difference but i did when i bake my 1152

BY THE WAY...SYNERGY are suppose to NOT be baked, because of the composite

My vector's really relaxed after 2 heatings. Tight is one thing, pain is another. Give it a shot or 2.

If the skates cause pain when you try them on, you shouldn't buy them. Baking should only be used for a hot spot or an area that is a little tight. If you have pain then you should try a skate that fits your foot better, like an S400. ;)

Actually, he was in the shop and tried on a pair of S400s over the weekend. I'm pretty sure he liked the fit of them. ;)

You can always spot-heat them with a heat gun, but yeah, if it is pain, baking will not help.

Whats the difference between hot spots and pain? I was never really sure.

I'll admit the S400's were the most comfortable skates out of the box that I've ever had on my feet. Like slippers. Now I have to figure out a way to prostitute myself to get a pair.

A hotspot will leave a red mark on your foot - but won't cause pain. Just pressure.

Yeah I had a hotspot on the inside of my right foot. I went and got them baked today and they seem to feel a lot better. I finally get to skate in them tomorrow! :D
