Will there be a "my career" type of mode where you build your player, maybe play in the AHL then either enter the draft, or already be drafted and try to make the cut. Maybe it's just me, but I really like those types of things. I am working on getting MLB 06 back because I liked that part and I just got Madden today.

How come the players gloves ar all the same?

It says on the EA Sports Web site that u can create-a-player And customize his helmet, skates, stick and gloves with brands like CCM, Jofa, Nike, Bauer, Itech, Mission, Easton, Lousiville, Koho and Sher-Wood. But i dont know if this means u can customize other players gear or change it hopefully though

Chances are the gloves wont be all the same. Its just a video from the games early stages in development. Its not polished yet.

The game will be released in September when hockey season begins. I don't know where August came from. All of that framerate and water bottle stuff happened because the videos were made while the game was still alpha. It won't be like that in the final game. The gameplay is definately the best in the EA series. I don't know who said the commentary was boring but the sample variety has had a major boost. None of the prior EA or any of the ESPN/989 hockey games compare to the audio this year.

Just wait another month for it to come out. I think everybody will be very pleased with the game.

alot of online gaming sites just changed the date to september, and i went into blockbuster today and they said they are still expecting to get the NHL game next tuesday, its not biggy i just cant wait to play this years game!

Yes, partly. There were a lot more factors though in the decision but that was one of the better 'perks' of releasing the game at a later date.

1 Demo, 1 Final. Way too much overhead to make more than 1 version of the final because of roster updates. It doesn't make any financial sense. The demo should be coming out soon. Look for it in magazines near you =).

I was referring to the console versions. I don't know about the PC. It would seem likely though.

As for the rosters, no Sidney Crosby due to the NHLPA rules that a player must play at least one NHL game before being in the roster of a video game. Same goes for NHL 2K6. No cut-off date has been released but it is hard to imagine the rosters being opening day accurate, there are just too many moves being made. In terms of the rule changes, nothing has been said but they will probably be implemented. Not so for the salary cap though, it is way too late for that.

NHL 2006 DEMO is available. The game is pretty awesome. Toronto vs. Tampa 1st lines only. 5 min game, only 3rd period. pretty limited can't change settings but you can pick jerseys

I just hope 06 is better than 05 on ps2. Ended up taking 05 back becasue the gameplay wasnt smooth at all. They better have gotten rid of that constant lag.

Cool thing is that there is an unofficial tool out there which lets you change settings in the demo game, such as difficulty, rules, screen res and it even let's you change lines and play 3 periods.

There is one minor "new rule" bug, too. According to new rules, the team that ices the puck is NOT allowed to change line before the subsequent faceoff. In the NHL06 demo you can change lines after icing.

As for the gameplay, we'll have to wait for the final game. I like how you can score one-timer goals yet again. On the downside I find the slapshot-sound ridiculous. Sounds like a gunshot more than anything else. And wristshots are ridiculously weak.
