Does anyone else have this problem (XBox). I've had 2 seasons lock up on me. The first one got to Jan 5th, and wouldnt' let me play or Sim past that point. No big deal. I started a new season and got to Nov 30 before it crapped out.

I started a 3rd, and Simed right to Nov 30...and it was fine. I play 2-3 games a night...so it's not like I'm playing to teh point the the thing is overheating, and no other games have had problems.

i've had the exact same problems with my copy for ps2. if i alter teams or use created players and start a franchise, near guarantee that it'll freeze up on me. and it does happen when i just do a normal franchise without changing anything. it pisses me off when you play about 20 games into a franchise or season, and the thing freezes up on you, and you reset and then it freezes at the same point over and over.

That's what's weird...it's differnet imes in the season and the settings are different. One was Default Rosters one was custom (I added myself to the game...tee hee). One was Rookie difficulty, one was Pro.

Oh well. It's my attention holder until EA NHL 2006 comes out.

I havent had the problem on hall of famer (o yeah i have no life) for PS2

NHL 06 is supposed to be the same as 05 just witht he deke control or whatever and less hitting

My $20 is going to NHL 2K6 being that 2K5 was the best hockey game I have ever played

It's known as the dreaded franchise freeze. It happens if you have injuries on. When a player gets injured, you have to make sure all the computers lines are filled otherwise it won't insert a player there and that's when it freezes. You have to go through the lines and just hit auto fill lines for every team. I just turn injuries off.

Players have been injured and been moved in and out of the line up...but, yes it is locking upon the return of a player at some point in the season. I'll try that (turning off injuries). Can you go into an existing season and change the settings, or just start over?

You can try it and save a backup of your season in case it doesn't work. I would load your season and go through all the teams (yeah a pain in the arse) and hit CPU auto fill lines and save that as a copy. Turn injuries off and hopefully all is well. If that doesn't work you may have to start over with injuries off. I'm in my 3rd season without any problems.

I had the franchise freeze happen to me twice, once was in the middle of my 2nd season, and the other was just recently in the middle of the Stanley Cup Finals. <_<

is it just me or do you all get about 2-3 injuries a game i have injuries set 1/3 from the bottom so it should be less compared to real hockey but i'm having bruised faces and brocken legs all the time

I used Atlanta and had Heatley, Savard and Kovalchuk out for the season by the fifth game.

Lol talk about bad luck i'm detroit i've had the game about 2 month and i only just found out about the advanced controls option lol i was wondering about all these moves being pulled on me now i'm just trying to conquer the goalie deke's

this may be a dumb question, but how exactly do you set all the computer teams in the franchise to 'autofill lines'? if it matters, i'm talking about the PS2 version of the game. i would play the game with injuries off, but i like them on...adds a challenge if a couple stars go down.

I had the same problem but for ps2 it froze on me in the 2nd season when ever I went to play a game against atlanta. I never found out the problem so I just traded it in :D let someone else deal with it
