New Easton Stick or Shaft

Recommended Posts

I just noticed this from some pictures of last night's Flames vs. Blackhawks game.

Check out Chris Simon's stick.

Z-core?

Anyone know anything about this one?

That shaft was discontinued a few years back, but it didn't look like that when it was terminated. It's got updated graphics! That was a good stick. I still have an AG, which became the Zcore. I wonder if Easton just redid the stick for him, or if they're gonna re-release it for retail?

I used to love the A/G...had 4 of them. In this age of light shafts, it'd be hard to see the Z-Core make a comeback - but they could always market it as a "tough" stick - kinda what they're doing with the Endure.

I A/C was NASTY too! I had the black/cream colored one. I don't remember the model name. Was it like AC 7100? Or were those later models? I know they had 2 in that series. One was Black/cream, the other was Silver/black. I think the Black one was Xstiff, and the silver one was Stiff.

Best shafts ever made and I still hoard them when I find them. First batch was the black/copper model and that was the A/C 7100. A little after that they had the A/C 7000 and that was the black/silver one. After that they changed the graphics up and came out with the A/C Convex which is probably the 2nd best shaft around. Problem was the things flexed like rebar and didn't sell for crap.

Dang. Thats a pretty cool shaft! I have a couple A/G and A/C that I need to break out and use soon. Great shafts but kinda clunky by todays standards.

I got 5 of them at the Devils' draft day sale. I saw them and I had to pick them up. Only thing that sucks is they came with an ultra carbon. I saw the Z-cores there and was gonna get 'em but they were gone when I went back.

Fury,

You just worry about the sticks you have, and putting the puck in the net...we got a big game tomorrow! I want your A-game.

Some of my friends went to the Devs sale. One guy bought like 5 older Synergies for 200 or something like that. I don't remember the player, but I remember thinking he was gonna have a hard time with the blade pattern.

Haha. Yeah we need you to get that shot on goal.

What sticks did you get at the Devs sale? Old ACs or old AGs? And you said Ultra Carbons came with them? The Ultra Carbon blades? Who's pattern did u get?

Good to see he's not running the goalie or anything

It looks worse than it was. Simon was pushed into Khabibulin by the Blackhawk rookie Dman while going after the rebound.

For the baseball players, a few years ago easton had the Z-core baseball bats. I THINK that the bat had traces of Zirconium, hence the name Z core. At the time (I beleive it was '99 or so) the Z-core bats were considered one of the better. But then, just like hockey, something better came out and Z cores were discontinued. Mission, as you all know, have the Z-1. Supposdley with Zed core inserts, I THINK that this similiar to the material found in the baseball bat. THat would also explain why it is a priceline stick.

Just a thought though, not so sure about it.

Yeah I got the old copper and black ones, the A/C's and the Ultra Carbon shaft, the blue and yellow looking one. Didn't come with blades. $100 for 6 shafts. And I'll make sure to hit the right net tomorrow.
