sonsplayhockey 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 How long after switching to a new blade should I wait before using the stick? Is it good to go within an hour or so or do I have to wait a day for the glue to cool and settle?

golfpuck 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 as long as the heated area is not warm, your fine.if your changing blades at the rink, the cold air of the rink should cool it down in minutes, if not, run it under cold water.

SR27 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 3 minutes, heck ive changed in between shifts I did that too and sent my good ole´ Inno to Nirvana on the first touch. Are you sill using those 800g Easton Aluminum´s yglod? :D Just kidding.... You should be fine doing it in intermissions. Like Jimmy said 3 to 5 Minutes and in case you had to heat the shaft pretty much (due to thicker hosel/more glue/whatever) you should help with cold water or wait a little longer maybe. mack 44 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 Sometimes you don't have the luxury of waiting until intermission though. Then again I used tape and never worried about glue not settling.

sonsplayhockey 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 Thanks,I'm playing pickup late tonight and replaced the blade at lunch to be safe. Was not sure if an hour or so was good enough. Sounds like I would have been fine to have changed it out tonight.I used this: http://www.hobbico.com/tools/hcar7000.htmlJust happen to used to fly RC airplanes. They are pretty cheap too ($10-$20)
