Wheel opinions needed

Recommended Posts

I am in need of new wheels, and I am considering Rinkrats (not sure which one) or Revision Golds. Any have any opinions on these? Which has better grip, durability, etc.

I am a forward and weigh around 180.

Thanks

I have used both Revisions and Rinkrats.. everyone is going to have their preference on the wheels because they either like them or dont. I personally LOVE revisions. the durability is amazing.. i was on a set for about 3 months playing 4 or 5 games a week(including big national tournaments like torhs narch and aau). Speed is unbelievable. As for the grip.. even in the 3rd month the grip was still almost like they were new... they hold very well on turns. The inside of the wheel called the Torus bends alot which allows you to still come out of turns with speed.

As for rinkrats.. ive used these wheels too. Durability and grip they are good aswell. As for speed. I felt like I was skating very slow on these and couldnt excelerate quick.

Again people are going to have difference opinions because they either like a wheel or dont. I have been using revisions since their first wheels came out and they have had 3 different types of wheels over the past year or so. They keep getting better and better and lasting longer and longer. Give em a shot

Try the RR Hornets at 76A or 78A.

You could try putting the 76A's on front and back and 78A's in the middle two wheels. Grip on front and back with the harder wheels for speed in the middle.

maybe i'm wrong but the last time i checked the revisions costed more. the rinkrats might not have as much speed but they do give you a smoother ride. hate to put another into the pot but what about labeda genesis?

I havent used the revisions yet, but i have used rink rats. I was actually kinda disappointed with the rink rats. They have only lasted me 2 1/2 months. Mostly playing 2 times a week , but sometimes 3. I get more life out of millenniums than i did out of rink rats. I will say that when the rink rats were still fresh that the grip was amazing. I do play on sport court just incase some of you were wondering. Also, i am not one to be very hard on wheels. I can usually get about 4 months out of a set of wheels.

Can't say anything about the Revisions, although I have heard good things about them, I have never used them.

If you do end up going with Rink Rat wheels, I would suggest the Hornet wheels. Great gripping wheel and the longest lasting wheel I have used.

worse comes to worse u try both sets of wheels.. if you have the money to sped... ull get 2 sets for about 6-8 months depending on how many times you play a week.. not a bad deal

Unfortunatelly I don't have the money to spend on two sets. So it's one or the other.

I am leaning revision if I can actually find someplace to buy them.

I would go with those after having a pair of the revision gold’s I didn’t like them but I have liked the rink rats I have had in the past.

Unfortnately their online ordering system pretty much sucks. When you put wheels in your cart all it says is "inline hockey wheels," there is no way to specify which color, or size.

I think Nick has recently moved on to Mission, but he helped me when I was ordering wheels to come up with the right setup and I've been very pleased with their performance..an d they have shown little to no wear after about a season's worth of play

I'd say give them a call, there is a industry summit in Vegas that finishes today so you should get good info by tomorrow at the latest..

Attn Hoffer, its Gretzky!!! c'mon now..
