christian torch lite first impressions

Recommended Posts

Does Chrisitian make tapered shafts? Is there any literature about them I could read or see pictures?

Yes, all of our shafts are tapered. We no longer make stadard hosel shafts.

If the fine folks at Modsquad would post our catalog like all of the other companies, then you would have something to look at. In the meantime, log onto our web site (www.hockeystick.com) and click on the product catalog section. Our 2005 catalog will download from there.

Go PIos' is there a reason why my 80 flex sabre is much stiffer than my 85 flex torch lite? is this due to the bad batch or misprint? btw they are both cut same height

The Harrow's were mis-calculated. The Christian is going to be closer to the advertised flex. Since you are playing at the NCAA level, you might want to consider a 100. How tall are you? How much are you cutting it down?

cut it to the length of a retail synergy no end plug. im 6'1. so an 80 flex harrow is what?

A cut down 80 flex Harrow is going to play around a 95-100. I recommend you use the Christian Torch in a 100 flex.

but wouldnt going to a 100 flex from an 85 make it stiffer when he cuts it down??

It would, but remember, his TorchLite was too whippy. What I am suggesting is going to be the best combination to get him what he needs. A 100 flex Torch with an inch or so cut off would be a better fit than an 85.

heres the deal. i think i can attribute my dislike for the stick due to flex/dud ness, soim gonna use a harrow v3 sabre 80 flex jsut to see on monday, and the 100 flex torch lite on monday as well, we will see!

Dude, seriously, there's an ENTIRE keyboard to use - no need to abreviate and neglect punctuation like you would on a cell text message. So, in short, SPEAK ENGLISH, SON!

Now that our public service announcement has been taken care of.....

You write that you just tried it out today. It's an entirely different stick than the Easton, with different materials, and different design. You have to give it more than one try before proclaiming it as being lousy. I remember the first few times I tried my Vapor XX - didn't like it at all. But, kept trying in warm ups here and there, and then suddenly, I got the knack and loved it.

As for the flex change, that's not exactly Christian's fault. However, if you're 6ft 1, why would you be cutting the shaft down 4 inches? I'm that tall, and find I have to put a plug in most retail shafts to make it long enough.

Just my take - I'm not a hockey (or English) expert - I just play one on the internet ;).

Here's something to keep in mind. With engineered kickpoints lower in the shaft, cutting off some at the butt end isn't going to increase stiffness as much as you think.

sorry ogelthorpe, didnt know i was taking the SAT here eh. i always have shitty spelling in every post but here you are mother goose riping on me.

Ya i cut it 4 inches, that how i like my sticks, short. still the 85 flex was whippy as hell. so i went with the harrow 80 flex cut, which is stiff and very nice. but today i used the best combo yet. a 100 flex torchlite taprered shaft with tapered wood blade in the 1 pattern, im in love what can i say. it possibly ranks as the best combo ive ever used.

bottom line, the torch lite was awful as a OPS so far, all of my teammates agree. however this tapered shaft combo is a beauty, i love it.

hey ogie run that through spell check on microsoft word. you internet mahoney

Minimum advertised pricing is $119 for the shaft, $20 for the wood blade.

update boysm since i started using th eshaft blade combo i loved it, however i already broke it with a huge crack running up the side, splits open when i put a new blade in. and the one piece, i used 4 times, blade broke right off on a slap shot. so for shaft right now A+ performance, F durability
