gettin new shaft

Recommended Posts

Hi, i am thinking of gettin a new shaft..i'm recently using CCM V120 shaft with 45kp flex...and a rebellion shaft which was used to be OPS.....now i thought of tryin out easton shaft but with shaft is better???

easton ultralite, z-bubble or z-bubble grip?? i will be using the shaft with a koho crossover 2260 jagr curve blade...i prefer harder stick but now thought og changing to a softer flex..maybe 85... i heard that ultralite have been a very popular shaft among player for its durability and performance and z-bubble are also catching along wit it...but i am worried bout bubble's shaft where the hossle(blade insertion section) with its focus flex where theres a part of the stick is slightly smaller in diameter so will it break down easily?

Actually i have had both shafts. The ultralite lasted about 2 and a half months, and the z-bubble has lasted me almost a year and is still going hard. The z-bubble is the lightest, best performing, most durable shaft i have ever had. From my expierences with both sticks i would defently go with the z-bubble. You won't be dissaponted with this stick.

i can think of alot more people having durability issues with the zbubble's taper compared the the UL. i would say that in general the ultralite has been one of the most durable shafts easton has made and will probably last longer than a zbubble

Go for the Ultra lite, very durable shaft, but for what i know they come only in 110-100 flex so no softer flex...

The grip model doesn't come in an 85, but the regular one does.

Will the Ultralite wit 85 flex be to soft 4 me as i'm 6 feet, 170+ lbs...? i'm afraid of it breaking......1 more thing y does most all of the easton shaft all short even it comes with a end plug... :(

The standard length for most shafts is 48" without an end plug.

If you get an ultralite to die in 2 months you deserve a medal, or you broke it in some freak accident or flexing it. I still sometimes use an ORIGINAL orange ultralite, had it for about 8-9 years.

I can't stand the current Ultra Lites, so I'd check eBay for the older/brown models. I still have one from '95 that's in better shape than some of my current sticks.

Not at all. The older shafts had a clear coating that seemed to work better than whatever it is they're using now. Plus the feel is off for some reason, or it's just all in my head.

izit ok if i go for a 85 flex Easton U.L shaft coz i'm bored of hard and stiff sticks and shaft...can it last if i use it ?, will be using this shaft for more wrister than slaps...

1 more thing,a 85 flex shaft will flex more till it reaches it limit then breaks and a 100/110 flex will flex less than a 85 flex shaft till it reaches its limit...then breaks rite? will a 85 flex shaft or 100/110 flex shaft breaks faster if gets lots of slashing(lets say if both get wit same amount of slash and hits...)which 1 will last longer??

Both are great shafts but If you want a little more performance go with the Bubble. It's been most durable for me. And it's one of the last shafts with Kevlar wrap on it.
