FACE TIME: Have you noticed referee Bill McCreary’s moustache as of late? It’s taking over his face. This would finally explain his inability to miss those obvious penalties on occasion — you can’t make a call if you’ve got hair in your eyes.

Like I'm going to take the word of someone who can't write a coherent sentence.

I'm liking Ovechkin more and more every time i watch him. He's the man. I like Crosby too, but i just don't think the way he is representing himself is up to par to what it should be at this point in the season.

a few things about last nights game.

-ovechkin plays dirty, he puts his hands up 2 out of 3 hits he makes or recieves.

-ovechkin scored to make it 6-2 pens, he celebrates like he just won the cup finals.

-if the 2 were to be evened out in shots, crosby would be beating him in goals.

its gonna be fun watchin these 2 go head to head for years to come. in my opinion, a-o is better than kovalchuk, and will continue to improve. people are right, i did recognize ovechkin in every shift, but maybe because he attempts 4 shots every shift. he had to of tried 25 shots that game, only 6-8 made it to the net.

Keep in mind that it was payback game against Whitney as well, who speared him brutally last game. Maybe thats why he played dirty

You didn't make those excuses in the McCabe thread about Tucker's "high hits".

Over half of the goals I've seen Crosby make, he's standing by the right goal post (goalies left) and waiting for a cross ice pass... while more of Ovehkin's have been good or sweet individual goals (has to because he has nobody to give him a pass...)

And what's up with evening out the shoots???????????

Ovechkin has to pursue the puck and take the shoots, while Crosby disses passes around. No wonder AO has more shots, and a lower shooting percentage when most of Crosby's shots are big chances from point blank on the PP....

Assist are good, but it's easier to make an assist than a goal so ofcourse Crosby is gonna put up more points over the years....

Should both players have equally long (+- 1-2 years) careers:

1. Crosby will make more points.

2. AO will make more goals.

A lot of teams in the league could use AO, way more than Crosby.

Habs, Bruins, Devils, Ducks, Leafs, Wild, Blackhawks, Blues and so on... Pretty much all the teams in the league besides the top-tier need a goal scorer badly.

Habs & Devils are prime examples, who the h*ll would they have Crosby pass the puck too? Alot of decent passers but (besides Gionta <- great year) no premium goal scorers.

McCabe screwed his team again. JD's right...Huge problem for the Leafs is just making the clean play. Tucker hits high, McCabe is getting penalty after penalty. All because they stretch the rules.

Its all true. Tucker goes out there and looks to head hunt every game. Thats not to say Ovechkin doesn't, even though I don't see it. But he did have added reason after getting speared during the last Pitts game. What happened to Tucker in his first game against the Rangers?

They didn't show Tucker getting hit in the pre-game skate on the NY stations? Apperantly Nylander gave'em a shot going by in the pre-game skate.

I'm just saying your putting your bias into the prior statement. Tucker usually doesn't hit that high, he usually charges.

Tucker probably said something to'em, but Nylander hit'em as they crossed paths in the warm-up. Not sure if it was an elbow or spear (Camera angle was awful), but thats one of the reasons he was head-hunting last night. McCabe does the same, he just does stuff when he feels like it. Neither are smart things to do.

Did you ever see some of the plays Crosby makes to get the assists? Plus you need somebody to finish.

Ovechkin has to pursue the puck and take the shoots, while Crosby disses passes around.

A-O gets the puck and doesnt even look to pass.

And what's up with evening out the shoots???????????

Crosby doesnt just fire at will, he makes his shots count more.

Actually, I think the Bruins would take Crosby over Ovechkin right now. Murray needs a dishing center.

Wow...Dietzie.  You're as biased as I am, and thats hard to come by

Everyone is biased here. Every thread turns into how much crosby sucks or how much they hate him. im just using stats to defend him.

Well everybody here is partially bias towards one of those 2 players, amazing I havem't met anybody who hates them both.

Either it's I love AO and hate The Kid or vise versa. Or it's I love them both they are amazing hockey players.

On this forum Crosby lovers might be a minority, but hey the media loves him.

Just saw the top10 shootout goals of the season so far on TSN (sweet stuff), but how lame was it that crosby's goal against the habs was rated #2 ????

Seen that move been made by 4 or 5 different players (including AO against tampa) and all of a sudden it's the second best after Malik's because Crosby did it.... that's bias.

Here is my top10 on I encourage people to go watch the clip on www.tsn.ca, and make their own top10 (will be fun to see how Crosby and AO's goals figure on the respective lists)

1. Malik

2. Nash

3. Jokinen

4. Briere <- my favourite move ingame

5. Kozlov

6. Smyth

7. Cole

8. Zidlicky

9. Crosby

10. AO

If it had been any other player it would have been a lot lower, if it was even on the list at all.

Ovechkin is so far superior to Crosby it's not even funny.

2 years older, 4 points seperating them and Ovechkin averaging more time on the ice. It's not the run-away some people would like to make it out to be.
