CCM V130

Recommended Posts

I have a vector V130 on the way is there anything i can expect?

I picked it because the graphite blades seem to last longer then carbon for me and i heard the stick gives you a hard shot and that is one of my strengths.

i have one of these shafts, and i cannot believe how light the stick is. the feel for the puck and the weight is amazing. i didnt know what i was getting myself into when buying this stick, just thought i'd roll the dice, and glad i did.

i'm sure you'll be happy with it. :)

I heard that the early V130 had serious blade and overall stick breakage.

As i just bought mine from Epuck will this be the improved version?

If your blade has a sticker on it that says "Sweet Spot", those are the redesigned ones.

hey im not gonna make a new topic about the same stick, but how does the light and the mid flexes on the v130 compare to easton flexes?

I believe 80 and 70 but don't quote me on that.

I used the v130 for the first time tonight and all the graphics on the blade are gone and so is the silver part from the lower shaft to the blade. Other areas of the shaft are also peeling and i am not happy as i paid 200 dollars for this.

Is thee a chance epuck would exchange it for another stick?

I have emailed them but i am still awaiting an answer.

Nope - I SERIOUSLY doubt they'll replace it unless it actually breaks. The V120 and V130 have long since been ragged on because of the cheap finish/stickers.

Even if they would replace it, it's going to happen to the next one (just check out the review section - seriously, dude, it's just the way CCM does it with the V120 and 130).

Although, to be fair, the newer Synnergies and Stealth's have the same problem with the paint chipping (just no cheap a$$ stickers).

I believe CCM was sending out V120s for the broken V130 and sending the V130s once they were ready for re-launch. I haven't seen any around here, so I'm not even completely sure they have re-launched.

Sounds like you got a bad one Playa. I had heard about those things you mentioned as well on a much earlier post on here. Also, CCM insists on using decals instread of graphics and cleacoat...drives me crazy. As far as the chipping, it's gonna happen. Somone once told me, you will never notice how much damage something can get until the first time you use it. That means, something new looks new, and once it gets damage for the first time, you really notice the difference. I would say keep using it, I doubt Epuck will exchange. Hopefully it breaks before your warranty is up, then you can exchange ;)

Oh, and God save the Queen.

Well epuck have told me they will only look at it if it breaks and im not sure if its the new or old version as the only problem is the chipping not the performance of the blade and i like the stick. Anyway i peeled off the rest of the silver bottom of the shaft and sprayed that part black as it is black underneath so chipping on that wont look a mess.

Well, if it breaks now, you may have voided the warrantee by spray painting it (this has been the subject of debate before - of course, by the strict application of the rules, it DOES void the warrantee, but has anyone ever seen them refuse a return for this?).

not for nothing , why does anyone even care how nice or pretty the graphics are if they are not an indication of stick quality... I guess its cool at first but when mine hits the ice.. Its a tool and needs to act like one... not look like one.

I also would never ever purchase one stick ove rthe other because it "was more aesthetically pleasing"

Have you been living in a cocoon? Don't you know it's all about style! :D

I've got the 130 shaft with a sythesis blade.

The stickers are dreadful, I don't know why CCM carry on with these cos the feed back has been that they suck for the last few years.

However..... the thing is a beast, doesn't torque when shooting, shaft feels great and the snap on it is unreal. So despite the crap stickers, it's still one of the best sticks I've had.

Mines a regular flex which seems the same as the TPS regular not as whippy as the Bauer 87 (?) flex

Good to know....

In the past, I have read that it would void the warrantee because of the acetone in the paint can wreak havoc with the bonding agent in the composite material. BUT.... again, I've never heard it rejected for this reason before, so you should be good (ESPECIALLY if someone told you to spray some clear coat on it).

In general, though, I agree with Stampede and Iceholes - who cares what it looks like (OK, short of being flaming pink, perhaps), so long as it's durable and performs well? Hell, some people wear the chewed up puck marks, peeling paint, and tears in socks type of thing as badges of honor. No one wants to be the guy who shows up with sparkling new gear that just begs someone to give it a good whack.

I went to a college game last friday and saturday, and they were breaking v130s left and right. At the end of the series there were like 12 vectors broken. So I dont know about the durability...

Yeah, the Stealth's bottom looks like dirt after just a couple games. Heatley is using an all-black stealth (made that way, not painted) so maybe if Easton does those GFX for next years sticks I'll have to try one again.

Well ive used the stick a few times now and all i can say is WOW!!! Its seriously light. I love the stick it has a great feel and is an absolute rocket when it comes to shooting. Due to the chipping i sprayed the bottom part dark grey over the silver and it looks better than it did with the silver. I put clearcoat over the bits where the peeling of the stickers was worse and this has helped. But the peeling/chipping has not bothered me as the performance really makes up for it.
