mack 44 Report post Posted October 24, 2005 how does USC, who is #1 in both polls, fall to #2 in the BCS? what a joke! Because they've played one tough opponent and got a miracle win. I think they're only #1 in the polls out of habit at this point.
hattrick74 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2005 pac 10 has 4 teams in the top 25 (bcs) big 12 has 3, USC has played Arkansas team who almost beat the # 4 team in the country, beat2 top 25 teams on the road in a row, beat a top 10 team in ND, and finish the season with 2 top 25 teams. texas beat ohio state which is very good, best win out of either team. the issue i have is that the bcs doesnt take score into account, but that sure seems why texas jumped over USC. no worries though when USC runs the tabe and meets texas and rose bowl, they will destroy them like okalhoma did last year. :) btw the pac 10 has a better record in bowls over the last 4 yrs the the big 12 (11-12 to 14-17)
Chadd 916 Report post Posted October 24, 2005 Texas got a couple more first place votes this week in the one poll as well.
mack 44 Report post Posted October 24, 2005 True the Big 12 isn't as dominant as it has been in the past, but UT destroyed Tech his past weekend. Granted they're overrated, but ASU isn't?
mik3 1 Report post Posted October 24, 2005 If either Alabama or Georgia go undefeated they'll be facing UT in the Rose Bowl.USC is overrated, they played one good team and were given the win.

You don't go almost 2 season without losing and be over rated. Bush is one of the best players in NCAA and I am not a USC fan either. (Go Bucks)

(Go Bucks) Last two seasons mean jack squat with this year. This yearif they all end up undefeatedAlabama/UGA/UT/VT > USCTrust me, you don't want to see USC in the title game against UT. It'd make last year's national championship game look close. Charles and VY would just run all over them.

Ya USC would have had to win by 60+ to stay number 1 and trust the Huskies are very very bad but there not that bad
hattrick74 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 If either Alabama or Georgia go undefeated they'll be facing UT in the Rose Bowl.USC is overrated, they played one good team and were given the win. i seem to remember many OU fans saying the same exact things. Young is a good athlete but i dont think he is a elite QB, lienart is by far the best QB in the league, he is the smartest and reads the de like no other QB in college. prime example, 4th and 8 with the game on the line he audibles at the line to get a 60 yd play to jarret. bush=best RB in the league, leinart=best QB caroll=best coach in the league
mack 44 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 But that "defense" they have. Horrible.
mik3 1 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Leintart =/= best qb (omar jacobs)Carroll =/= best coach (weiss)bush is the best player on that team, otherwise they're not THAT good.horrible run defense, good pass defense for the pac 10(which isn't saying much)I'd say VY would run for at least 150 on them in the rose bowl if they were to play. And who other than OU fans thought OU had a real shot last year? mack 44 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Scary thing is these aren't even Weiss's players. Wait till he can start getting recruits in, even with ND's standards.

Willingham won with Davie's players, but then Willingham for the most part crapped himself recruiting. In about three years ND will be back into the elite without question. Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Carroll =/= best coach (weiss) As a tried and true Patriots fan, I'd take Carroll over Weiss any day.Although the general consensus was Carroll was too rah-rah for the pros, and particularly New England, most thought his understanding of X's and O's was excellent. In the right environment -- defensive coordinator in pros or college coach -- people thought he'd excel. Further, in New England he didn't have enough input into player acquisition, something he obviously has at USC.Conversely, I think many in New England were indifferent to Charlie Weiss. There was a feeling he'd try to get too cute in the play calling, almost as though he was trying to call attention to himself. Most assumed Romeo Crennel would be the bigger lost, and so far that's proven to be the case. Based on points for/against, I believe the Pats are third in offense and second-to-last in defense. That said, Weiss has done a great job resurrecting ND quickly. Presumably, the players gave him respect immediately since he's a three-time champ.
hattrick74 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Weiss is good no doubt, but i would take caroll, why? because he gets his defense to adjusts so well. USC front 4 are some of the best in the nation with rucker and jackson, so i doubt VY could put up 150 on them, they are 12th in the nation in run defense with UT at 11 so if VY puts up 150 as you would say, then bush and white will drop 300 easily on them. no to mention the triple threat with jarett, smith and byrd. but i know for sure it will be a better game the last year and UT defintely has a chance to beat usc, lets just hope it gets there. and you want USC to be in the title game because What team doesnt want to play the previous champ and beat them? thats why you want USC in the title game. Four times...he won a title with the New York Football Giants in 1990, so did Crennel :)
