Langenbrunner15

air-soft guns

Recommended Posts

basically, its an expensive toy. In the first couple months I had one, I went through many cans of air; and now, it sits on my shelf. Would I not buy one if I could go back? no way hehe, those times were just too fun. Keep in mind the good quality japanese/taiwanese ones can cost upwards of $200 and gas can cost about $20 a bottle, and if you intend on using computer gas, its best to get a good quality one.

And really, its a little hard to go outside and play with your friends with them cause you will attract alot of unintended attention. =)

Id just get a mid range gun thats not like crazy expensive and just make sure you wear goggles those could really hurt your vision if you get hit with one. other than that you can go with anything

They are a lot of fun for just messing around with some buddies and what not, but they can get to be very expensive. What type of gun did you have in mind Langenbrunner15? Unless you are planning to get hardcore, I wouldn't buy a gas, or high end electric gun, IMHO. I used to play, but not competetivly or anything, and I spent an embarrassing amount of money on those japanese guns (Tokyo Mauris) that nazzy19 mentioned, which now collect dust in the basement.

as for where to play...go into a playground ( prob. without kids) its fun there, hidin in slides, or in houses that are not yet built, with just the wood standing. well, at least thats what me and my friends used to do, we actually had teams and played like paintball tournys. not just waist ammo, actually play. I stopped playing just because it got boring after one summers worth of fun.

Only suggestion i would have is if a cop pulls over when you are near put the gun down and put your hands up. And im not being funny. It happend to me and a couple friends once. The police didnt know that they were fake, they pulled out there guns on us and stood behind their doors and were yelling at us. <_< after we showed them what they actually were, they told us to always drop and put up hands if another officer pulls us over, we were also informed that air soft guns are illegal for kids under 18 to have,?? thats why my parents had to buy them for me.

Just some pointers.

I'm pretty sure thats right.

Another tip would be to NEVER conceal the orange tips on the gun in any way. If a cop catches you using a gun with a painted tip, or without the tip, you could be looking at a hefty fine.

It feels like abee sting for a couple of secounds. COuld leave welts but usually doesnt. Dont get hit in the face and NEVER in the eye cuz it WILL cause bleeding(happenend to my friend). Metal BB's can go through the skin i think? I would use/get plastic.

I wouldn't be as concerned with the fine of removing or painting the orange tip so much as I would worry about some cop shooting because you are holding what he thinks is a gun. In a day when they aren't held accountable for what they perceive so much as what is, there is a very high potential for getting shot. Don't take that kind of chance. I have a few Airsofts from overseas without the tips and there is no way of telling if it is real until the plastic pellet hits you. That will be a little too late if a cop sees you with it. If a 10 year old kid can be shot to death with a water gun in his hand, that is not a stretch by any means.

As far as the injuries - some of the stronger gas powered guns can break skin. They're pretty much BB guns. The injuries you should worry more about are eyes, obviously, and chipped teeth. Other than those, if you're using a spring loaded gun with plastic pellets, it will just sting and leave a small welt, nothing too big. I know all too well from college, let's just say living in a house with 8 other hockey players armed with these overpowered toys made for a painful 2-3 months until the novelty wore off.

Metel BB's can and will go through skin, and hurt like hell. They should ony be used for shooting targets and such, and not people :D
