TO is making $3.5M in base salary this year.  And it's not about the paycheck they have to give him, it's about salary cap.

TO's base salary is 660 thousand with a 2.3 million dollar signing bonus and 6.2 million in other bonuses, for a cap value of 7.24 million, according to USA Today. It's not uncommon, last year Mushin Muhammad's base salary was $660 grand, and David Boston's was $0, with lots of bonuses.

That was last year. This year he has a base salary of $3.5M with no other bonuses.

I wrote a post on another board comparing his contract to Moss and Harrison last offseason. Check it out if you want to:

I know he won't be cut, that's just what I was hoping last night before they announced the length of his suspension this year. I'm agreeing that no one will trade for him and just wait till he's cut. As good as he is, I can't see him being a credit to any team with how much of a cancer he is.

Apparently hes decieded that he wants to go to the Falcons who want nothing to do with him. I could see a team like the Raiders taking a chance on him as there know to take chances of problem players. Man what a recieving core that would be with T.O., Moss and Porter.

Vick's come out and said he'd play with him and after having Brian friggin' Finneran be your best WR you've had, I think Atlanta's the logical choice. Assuage your QB and get a WR that, if happy, is at least the #3 in the league.

As for him going to the Raiders they'd still have no one to throw the ball to him. Kerry Collins has a Tecmo Bowl arm and leaves his receivers to die.

If Owens wasn't happy with McNabb, I'd love to see him in Atlanta. Even when Vick tries to hit a WR the ball ends up in the wrong zip code half the time.

I think geography will help more than anything. You can't be more country than TO.

He was born in Alabama, so he'd fit right in to the A.

Interesting quotes about TO:

-- "If the Falcons sign T.O., I'll disown my kid." - NFL Network analyst Jim Mora Sr., whose son, Jim Jr., is the Falcons' coach.

-- "He's almost dismantled the Eagles. Why would I wish that on us? I've already got enough problems. Some things can overcome talent, and he's figured out how to do that." - Texans owner Bob McNair when asked whether he would have any interest in Terrell Owens.
