Vancouver getting a #1 goalie has got to be a big one. Atlanta getting a goalie has got to be another...

...Maybe Bertuzzi to NYR for Dominic Moore and a goalie??? How'd that be for a twist of fate?

jeez, i haven't heard anything here in vancouver....if they were really trying to move him you'd think we'd have heard it by now <_<

At this point it's all speculation....we'll see.

Apparently Dave Nonis ('Nucks GM) has shot down the Bertuzzi rumors -

"Spector's Note: According to Canucks GM Dave Nonis, there is no truth to rumours he's shopping Bertuzzi, or for that matter Ed Jovanovski and Dan Cloutier. Until we see otherwise, we'll have to take him at his word."

It's not a huge mistakefor the Avs to dump Svatos now when he is starting to play well. If he turns out to be the player alot of people think he is, then he'll command top dollar. Throw Hedjuk, Tanguay in there, Sakic and Blake will likely be around making a decent salary. It could create the same Problem Tampa will face having the "big 3".

Ever notice how Lacroix keeps the real players and dumps the guys who never seem to reach their full potential? Does Radim Vrbata or Bates Battaglia ring a bell? Skoula?

in the off season i heard rumors that avs were gonna trade sakic to sens for smolinksi and fisher.... no like 3 days ago i heard sakic and a 3 rounder for smolinks and vermette .... that would be a great move n ottawas behalf....

theyd have some solid lines...only thinkg is do hey have cap room

Great call Chadd. Any guy that kicks another player in the groin does not get any sympathy from me, especially considering this was the 2nd time he had kicked someone.

I had no idea Havlat was such a chippy SOB. I didn't even know he has been suspended previously for another kicking incident until he had been suspended this most recent time.

I wonder what his problem is? Give that kid some Zoloft or something, chill out a bit.

Gotta agree with you Fish. In yesterday's game they had Kolesnick playing. They signed Abischer (sp) to be the #1 guy and Quenneville (also sp) is now making the goalies "compete" for the top spot. Anytime goalies have to compete, after a number 1 was supposed to be settled....someone is going to be traded.

Weekes was supposed to be the number 1 for the Rangers, but with the emergence of King Henry, the Rangers don't need a backup making #1 dollars. That's why I think the Sykora rumors have some clout to them. Giguere has a nagging injury. They've been using Bryzgalov, but really not liking his stuff. I could see Weekes and someone else going to Anaheim for Sykora and Bryzgalov.
