EFSI Russian hockey gear

Recommended Posts

I watched a game from the Rosno Cup on TV today (an annual pre-Christmas tournament for the "big four" national teams of Europe), and saw some Russian players wearing interesting looking gloves that looked like MIA gloves but with Russian letters on them. They looked pretty cool, kinda exotic in a way with those cyrillic letters.

So after investigating a bit, I found out it's a Russian brand called EFSI. They seem to copy other brands products, such as the Itech helmet and now the MIA gloves, and some other stuff as well. And apparently Igor Larionov markets/endorses this brand. Has anyone heard of them before? Are they available in North America or in the rest of Europe, or are they just made for Russia?

Last I heard just European products. They had Inno sticks and Eagle-made gloves a couple years ago when they first came out.

I have seen one of those inno made sticks in person. They have the checkerboard style blades and you can´t see the fuse point so it´s not a 1100. B)

The gloves are basically SMU MIA MB22 and in earlier years used to be SMU Eagles (not sure what model).

There is currently one of those EFSI gloves on ebay.de and I´m planning to bid on them. I´ll let you know how they turn out if I win.

Several Ruskie players were using Efsi stuff a couple years back. I'm pretty sure Igor Larionov had something to do with it. I think he got the liscense to produce the equipment over there...something along those lines.

I know Sergei Brylan used them, Larionov, Kozlov.

Here´s a good pic of the sticks. As a side note those gloves in the picture somehow look TPS to me.

Looks like some Big guy in Russia has the POWER of the market and market custom brand product made by the other big brand (Itech, Eagle, etc).

Usually u saw this in grocery store in which the house brand is manufactured by some other big brand.

So those sticks are True1's ? whoa, wonder what the price would be.... The only retailers that have them are probaly Russian mobsters....

I recently played w/ Larionov. He had a True1 that was similar to the ones in the picture except it said Innovative on the lower half and had large Russian writing on the top half. Also had a "Wings across Russia 2005" logo in the middle.
