Synergy 1300

I have searched the forums and havent quite found any pros and cons written about the Synergy 1300 skates . I was thinking about buying these on monday, anyone have any input on these skates, pros-cons? Thanks for the help

It depends on what you like? Do you like a stiff skate? If not than this one isnt for you...Also, try them on before you buy them because they cannot be baked

I demo'd the 1300c skates over the summer and I didn't like them. They were just too stiff for my likings. If you are interested in buying them try and demo a pair first. Also, you might be able to buy them on closeout since the 1500c is being released soon. A lhs near me has them on closeout already.

A teammate of mine had them and they fell apart in the middle of the 2nd season (the toe part). He took care of them too.

I skate in the 04 Synergy Skates and after I put on TUUK Custom + Holders,I couldnt be happier. Except for the fact I had to SuperGlue over half of the mateiral back on.

Just got a return for one yesterday, the boot was cracked after 5 games lol! The guy was so pissed.

If you like stiff skates, there the best but if you buy them, get ur LHS to toe pro the shit out of the toe to make it last as long as you can, and the material on the boot isnt sown on even thow it looks like it cuz you cant et a needle true composite fiberglass, so everytime something starts to say like peel reglue it right way before it gets worst, i had them since august and i had no problems with them since i the guy told me to toe pro and reglue here and there once in a while, but the stiffness is insane so if u dont like it stiff, go for a non composite boot, and if your foot is prone to get blisters with skates you can bake, then dont get those, but if you never got blisters on ur feet go for it i never had blisters and those skates never hurt my foot, the best part thow they start off really stiff but after a while if you have them for a say a few months they soften out to a perfect stiffness its pretty cool and there insanely light

Thanks guys, im skating in a graf supra 703 right now and had a pair of G3s and i like the feel of both of those. How does this skate feel in comparison to those, also is there any pros or cons to having a stiffer boot (mobility, speed etc) I play defense so I was just wondering about that. Thanks for the help so far

In my opinion, the stiffness of the 1300c does not have many advantages besides protection. Just stick with the Grafs. I demo'd the synergys in August and bought another pair of Grafs (G5) instead because the Synergy skates were too stiff for me.

3 guys on my team have them and are having issues, 1 guy has already taken them back and the other 2 are probabley going to, some problems with the toecap and everything else coming apart.

My Synergy skates felt incredible and performed great initially, but then they began to bruise and rip my ankles to shreds over the course of a few weeks.. It looked like I was shot in the ankles with a derringer a few times by the time I got rid of them. I just think they were a little too high cut to be that stiff. Also, I may take some heat for this, but I really liked thsoe easton bladeholders.

The holders are actually decent, the steel is the problem.

They held an edge fine for me and didn't break. Only thing I did notice is they liked to chatter when stopping b/c of the flex.

I`ve seen lots of players using those skates having ankle bites to blood on the oustide anklebones. The sides are too stiff and dig inside your ankles when skating. Most players using those skates now have scars over their outside anklebones... I`ve seen one guy who glued pieces of foam in that spot to correct the problem because he couldn`t afford to get other skates after he bought the Synergy`s.

Yeh i've seen that too...but my nike FL 12s have left scars in the same place the synergies did....so its not just a synergy skate problem.

I had bruising the first week and it went away.The skates have been perfect.I had alittle lacebite a month ago ,but that went away in like a week also.

With me it was unreal... They were progressing to the point of being large holes in my ankles. It took a month plus for all the ankle pain to subside...

I have a pair of Snergy 1300's and I couldn't be happier. Had them for about six months now with no problems with fit or holding up. I loved the fit so much I chose them over a pair of Graf G-5's at the store and I'm not the least bit disappointed. These skates fit perfect from the first time I put them on and had no pressure points at all and just seem to get better with usage. They are phenominally light and I love the stiffnesss and responsiveness of them. For me they're a perfect skate and I've worn CCMs most of my life. The only other skate I would choose is the Graf G-5 which also have a carbo frame outsole and quarters. Both these skates have a great fit and are very light.

Thanks for the info so far guys, but I have one more question. If I like my skates pretty tight, do I want to buy a skate with a stiffer boot like the synergy 1300 or the vap. XXXs. Im skating in a graf 703 and had a pair of G3's (had to send them in due to manufacturing prob.) and I like the performance but I constantly need to retie/tighten them. So do I need to move to a stiffer boot (as said above)?
