Vapor 30 VS Vapor 20 Glove.

Recommended Posts

Ok, I used the search but could only find info about the 20 glove. When I went to the MSH Skate on Friday they had a Pair of Vapor 30 Gloves. and before this I could only see pictures of them. I was supprised that they were a different material then the 20's. My question is does anybody have the 30's do they hold up well-- next to the RBK gloves I would have to say they are the most comfertable glove I have ever put on; I even returned my easton 1300's(Never Worn) The material dose'nt seem as durable as the 20's or even my easton 1300's. But a great fitting glove. I went to the bauer's web site and just gives a bunch of marketing BLA BLA. So what are these things made of, Is it a dependable glove, I see alot of NHLers with them on so they must be protective??? (What is shell: Pro Tuff??)

Thanks!

Bauer Whore :D

Spelling fix

They're nylon, which is hit or miss with lots of people. It supposedly dries faster, is lighter  and holds up better than "leather" materials. I don't really care about that, I just liked the fit on them the nylon wasn't really a deciding factor.

As for the palms, its also been hit or miss with them. Most people have torn through them, as a result of htem being so thin. I use about 3 tiny wraps of tape (a la Kessel, and I candycane) so my top hand really wasn't that worn until a couple months ago. Now there's a pretty big hole in my top hand glove, and they're getting pretty crusty and sketchy. My bottom hand is super crusty from the combo of grip sticks and candycaning. But, you still get an extra pair of palms so if you don't mind them getting repalmed then giver.

The outer shell on mine is pretty torn up, on my pinky all the plastic inserts came out from holes getting cut and the poly insert fell out. But I have had them for 1 yr now, so that's legit durability for me.

Intensely long post..basically if you aren't worried about repalming them, and like the fit that much I wouldn't think twice.

I never tried eagle witch I hear is an awesome glove so I ran to the store and tried on a 180 buck eagle glove and I think the 30's are better than those. And with a stick in your hand WOW! No, I don't mind repalming-- my upper hand glove with all my eastons got re-palmed about every year and my lower hand every 2 years. I have had my easton airs for 7 years now. and yes if the glove fits well and protects I'll dame near have them stiched back together if I had to! The only reason I am giving up my airs is they are some what rerstrictive and the vapor 30 arent at all. My wife got me 1300's for X-mas but they felt bad. Nylon seems to hold up well and it does make the glove more fitting.

The palm on the XXX blows, I had XV's last year cuz they were school issued, I graduated and had to give them back, got the XXX, and the palms suck, the ones on the XV were 1000 times better, but I still love the XXX gloves, they are light, and the extra palms are nice, but should have just put the XV or XX palms on the XXX and called it a day.

If you like the RBK fit, why not save money and get the 6K gloves? They're nylon and a bit less expensive than the XXXs.

The RBK are real nice and so are the eagles but my problem with those was how they interefered with my elbow pads. The RBK seem long/tall and the Eagles were like my eastons (Real hard cuff). All the gloves I tried were 14" so it is weird how one glove could be longer than the other. But the XXX were very light and seemed to flex everywere. I have heard alot of bad things about the palms but the fit/feel and performance of the glove is well worth it. Plus I am getting a return pair--perfect shape for 90 bucks so I can't go wrong,And I was told from the salesman He'll sell me a second pair for 100 bucks, -- I might do so I can rotate. Witch I do like to do with gloves and when I have one pair worked on I 'll have the 2nd pair.

Thanks for the Info. It has been very helpful.

Fair enough. You're getting a deal, and I'd probably take it if offered, too.

I found out tonight these gloves are 130 on the web and 159 at the LHS---Holy s!@# I got a good deal. I thought these things were 100 bucks tops!!!
