Well I can't help you but those reviews are first-hand made by users on this board.

EDIT- I took it as you meant the reviews on this site but now I think you could be talking about reviews off the site. In that case, there are reviews at the review section on the main page.

The M-1 Grip is the same construction as the L-2, so you get the 1-piece vs. tapered argument there. Then search and find topics on the XX. As Fonya said, the reviews are from first hand experience. Neither were stellar for me in durability, but the XX was slightly better.

I know you wanted first hand experience and I haven't used either, but I like to go by my informal "trash can at the local rink" poll. Over the past couple of years, I have seen quite a few M-1's (both grip and non-grip) and XX in the trash can, but only one L2. Granted, a lot of M-1's and XX's end up in the trash when the blade breaks, and since L-2's don't go to the trash with broken baldes, it's not a fair comparison. But still, I haven't seen a lot of people break L-2 blades either. From everything I've heard, the L-2 is a solid stick with good performance.

"Gear" Make very durable sticks! A few of our adult plays have been using them for a while and no1 has broken any yet. I have seen a vapor xx get skated thro, stay away from them SL's And XXX Lites! Unless u got money to blow.

XX Stick-Ums recently had a topic about how they broke so quick the owner hadn't even managed to get a slap-shot off...

Vapor XV shaft and CCM vector v120 OPS are the only shafts i havnt manged to break before the blades (one of the XV's has lasted me over a year). Ive had many shafts - mission x-core, v110, octane  , yzerman  , and several woodsticks and a few more composites (nike appollo, ultra lite etc.)

Response + has been very durable for me, one last all last season at two or three times per week in a rotation and I just recently went back to it with no problems in the first month or so.

I've busted a Vapor XX as have 2 of my teammates and a couple of others chewed through the M2s. I'd go Louiseville as my shaft has lasted ages, as well as a couple of sticks my teamates have been using.

(We play local league ice hockey here in Australia)

i agree about the gear stick, not sure about performance bu they certainly last a long time. And im sure if he had money to blow we wouldn't have had this poll in the first place!
