Can anyone translate the Russian from the store?? I've heard it's pretty bad and if you post it you might be banned *L* (they were talking on another MB).

PM me if you can translate it.

Too bad Svatos doesn't get his limelight as well, just because he doesn't get the ice time Olvetchkin and Crosby do, but is right behind them in stats. I'd be willing to bet that if he did get to play as much, he'd be neck and neck with these two

ya maybe they would be neck and neck in terms of points but if you buy svatos with the pens or even better yet the caps and he'll be lucky to have a 15 goals by now.

AO is really impressing me. I like his attitude. He came in being 2nd to Crosby, and it hasn't phased him. He's just going about his business. He asked for a North American roommate so he could learn the language and culture. I also saw him today during the Olympic Russia-Lativa butt-kicking, where he scored a goal and didn't lift his stick to show off. Kovalchuk scored 4, the game was clearly one sided, and everytime he scored he had some sort of celebration.

I remember seeing Malkin, maybe in World Juniors awhile back, where him and AO were on the same line. I thought more of Malkin's overall play. He seemed to have better vision, better anticipation, more of a two-way game. AO was more goal-oriented, where Malkin was just more of a developed player. My thought of AO has since changed. He's doing alot of things right.

I would like to see Malkin though. He'll be around next year. Anyone see Malkin more and maybe comment on my previous thoughts above? Comparing Malkin's game to AO's?

maybe, maybe not. The kid's a playmaker as well, and is in the running but well enough behind Crosby and AO, but is only playing 2/3 the time that AO is. Lets switch their positions for a second, do you think AO would be having an immensly better season if he had come to Colo and Svatos had gone to Wash? I don't think he would be doing that much better since Svatos is a rookie sensation as well and has played almost seven games less time than AO this season. If Svatos didn't have three times as many game winners as AO, and wasn't as close in stats as Crosby and AO then it would be a valid argument that he's an average player on a good team. The fact that he has been the difference in nine games and done so quietly.

Malkin is definitely going to be an impact player, but like Crosby-Ovechkin, they play a different game. In that sense I think Malkin and Crosby might have slightly more in common, even though Malkin is a big guy. When Ovechkin gets the puck, it's exciting, but you almost know what he's going to do - he's taking that thing to the net, it's just a matter of whether he's going to fire it through the goalie, blow by you, or bull through you, one way or another he's going to get there. The best part is that every defenseman in the league knows that's pretty much what he's going to do, but he still pulls it off a lot. I think Malkin is more crafty and subtle about how the puck's going to end up in the net, a bit more of a playmaker when he needs to be. AO is pretty blunt about what he's going to do with it, but that other part of his game may develop more.

Prucha and Svatos are both talented, but they are surrounded by much better teams than AO and Crosby. Lots of great young players around, it's a good time to be watching hockey.

Yes, AO is the hart and sole of Wash! While Svatos has alot of points and is a great player, he is not the hart and sole of Col. If AO had talented line mates he would be unstopable. Its not like Svatos plays againist all the other teams top lines and defensive pairings, AO does and he still dominates!

Malkin is strong on the puck and is a great playmaker, and while he doesnt shy away from contact he doesnt seem to initiate it as much as AO likes to. In alot of games, Ovechkin just gets an attitude about him and finished every check, and hard. Malkin can deal with the physical aspect of the game, but i havent seen him throw any big hits yet, although i've only watched him a few times

If you've seen him at the olympics, the rink is larger and less hits are completed. Maybe this could explain why big Malkin is 7x less physical than AO.
