Louongo leaving FLA

Recommended Posts

I second that. Luongo seems to be a down to earth guy. He is freakin´ good but needs a better team.

I'm still sayin:

Flyers anyone?

Only way I see that happening is for Nitty, carter or richards and another guy, maybe even a pick too.

Bruins could use a decent goalie......

They have Raycroft and Toivonen, I don't think they'd be willing to get another young tender in order to throw those two away.

Raycroft has been brutal this year, I'd deal him and keep Toivonen (im a big bruins fan), but whos this guy Tim Thomas or what ever the hell is name is... never ever heard of him.

To hell with Raycroft. He's not living up to his Calder cup winning potential, so I say trade him. As for Toivonen, he's excellent but I dont know if he's ready to be a steady #1 yet. As for Thomas, he's the #1 down in Providence, called up when Toivonen went down.

the bruins don't have the goods to trade for luongo. i'm sure the panthers would ask for tivo and someone like patrice in return. not older vets like murray and samsonov. besides, luongo wants to go to a contender and the bruins are maybe only slightly better than the panthers at this point.

Give'm a steady goaltender and they're fighters in the eastern conference. The bruins do have some good young, up and coming defensemen in Alberts and Jurcina, I wouldnt want to see them go as they've played so well, but if we had to give them up along with a couple vets to get Luongo, then so be it

I know Raycroft is having an off year, but he is still young Toivonen is a capable #1 guy in the near future. When you deal for a guy like Luongo, you want him to be your man for 5-10 years, at least.

Maybe instead of trading Luongo, Florida should try to actually build a team around him. Trade some draft picks, get some D-men, and then resign Louongo. if Florida does trade him, I see him going to either the Flyers or the Canucks.

Or Tampa. They can't keep all three stars for much longer.

I'd be surprised if they let Richards go. If I had to guess I'd say St. Louis gets traded after the "3 big money guys" experiment fails.

Interesting tidbit from today's Boston Globe:

"Although his team continues to struggle, Florida Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo is putting up mind-boggling statistics. Back in 2003-04, he faced 2,475 shots, which was 505 more than the goalie with the next-highest total, and had a career-high seven shutouts. Last Tuesday, Luongo earned his 27th career shutout when he and the Panthers beat Washington, 5-0. Of his 102 wins, 26.5 percent have been by shutout."

It's amazing that Mike Milbury packaged Luongo and Olli Jokinen to move up only four spots in the draft to nab Rick Dipietro. It's not as though Luongo was an unknown when he came into the NHL.

The Oil need a stellar goalie if they want to make it anywhere in the playoffs.

Hell they need a goalie to MAKE the playoffs.

Morrison lets in 2 goals on i think 4 shots and we are down 3-2 to st.louis at the end of 2 periods.

Come on lowe lets get something going.
