Nice deke he threw down tonight in the shootout vs. Anaheim. In the few LA games I've seen this year, I've noticed that he has incredibly quick, soft hands. This is only his second season in the NHL. He's got 26 pts in 51 games. That's good for a D-Man and he's a +19!

yeah he's a stud. he had a pretty nice penalty shot goal earlier this season against Detroit as well.

I am always confused about this, but wasn't he the dude that got in trouble in Boston for attacking a barfly when she didn't take kindly to his advances?

If your a star you'll get away with anything <_<

Sorry, but not always. He pleaded guilty to assault charges and received a three year suspended sentence, with counselling and community service requirements. A civil case is pending. He had mandatory anger management classes for one year, once a week as part of his probation. He didn't get away with anything. Next time get your facts straight before throwing out a sweeping generalization.

He got drunk at a bar, grabbed a girls ass and plead guilty to assault.

When I saw him in Edmonton, he broke his nose on one of the first shifts of the game and was back out that same period  . He has sick hands, thats what I noticed most. Really smooth player

Joe's a good player for the Kings (I'm one of the few Kings fans that actually like him, it seems - i.e. www.corvosucks.com ) but he is still kinda inconsistent in his own end. One of the main reasons his +/- is so good is because his defensive partner is Lubomir Visnovsky, who's having a Norris trophy-like year.

That being said, Joe continues to improve as each game goes by and with 10 goals and 16 assists this season from the point, he's proving that he's a legitimate top 6 NHL'er.

The story, which is in the latest Hockey News by the way, is that Corvo grabbed the girl and she got him kicked out of the bar. He confronted her later, hit her and kicked her when she was on the ground.

For a few years in the minors it seemed like he was just on the edge of making the jump but couldn't find the consistency or focus in his game.

My apologies, i didn't think it would be taken to heart, didn't realise that he'd been given all that. Sorry :(

Not saying that he got off light, but he did get a suspended sentence. If I was arrested for assualt I would end up doing jail. I also would no longer have a job, and would have a difficult time finding one. Corvo, mightt not have gotten away with what he did, but I sure the fact that he's a star certainly helped lighten his sentence.

Not necessarily. Being a first offense, judges will often go the probation and counseling route. Offend a second time and you'll find yourself in hot water.
