What happened to their great group of D-men? There was plenty of talk early in the season how great their blueline was. Well, they have been exposed as average.

I don't know why anyone would think that the Leafs defense would be great this year. It's been average for a few years now.

I don't think ANYONE with any intelligence would've said the Leafs had a great group of defencemen. They were average, at best.

even if you trade belfour for a defencemen, you'd only get a 5-6th defencemen in return, and the leafs are full of 5-6th defencemen.

you'd have to give up one of the young kids to get any quality..

General consensus was that Kaberle and McCabe were great, and they have been. Klee's fallen off like nobody's buisness and Khavanov's been a huge dissappointment. Cola's played very well, but hasn't gotten enough top 4 time and Berg is well... Berg :(

I am not sure what to expect. Anyone who has a clue knows Quinn should be gone, but I think JFJ will take the fall in the off-season. If Quinn goes, it's doubtful it'll be before the olympics.

I doubt it. We have enough offense from the blueline, and I expect they'll rebuild (God I hope so) soon.

Rivers is a last minute thing. They had something like 11 regulars from their AHL team injured a week or so ago, and they need them to get onto the ice before stepping up a level. Appernatly Chow is going the other way. Woz was hurt and they don't feel Harrison or White is ready at this point. Rivers will be the equivelant of Czercawski for the time being.

The Leafs first off need to get their injuries healed up. Once Tucker, Lindros, McCabe, and hopefully Pilar are back, that should help (hopefully). As long as you have guys like Belak, Wilm, and Berg playing I don't think you can honestly expect a team to win when your goaltender has been shitty. As of now we have no depth.

Put in Telly more. He has played great in every game I've seen this year. If Belfour is going to suck, start grooming Telly for the #1 spot.

Fire Quinn. He sucks. Just look at his lines. Sundin-Tucker/Steen= good. + Kilger? Horrible. Why would you sign a guy like O'Neill and then have him play on a third line? Stick him, Sundin and Tucker together and thats a first line which can all score and move the puck well.

If Quinn wants to spread out depth, spread it out among the 3rd and 4th lines. Don't put Sundin with a career 4th liner. Obviously these can't really happen at the moment, but its not like Quinn will ever get smart about setting lines.

Finally others see the waste of the lines Quinn puts together. It's like he's holding onto having his four lines be better than other teams' four lines, except the other teams' top two lines obliterate his top two. Quinn and his douchebaggery must go.

sorry, domi fought AND scored monday night against ottawa. but true, quinn isn't doing the leafs any good, and as good as eddy can be and was, he really is showing his age, unlike hasek who has mostly been stellar for the sens (of course having an amazing team infront and solid D helps :P).

i agree with you about the first line, but i think allison should play with antropov and poni. allison is too slow to play with wellwood and steen, their styles also don't match very well. imo, domi should play with lindros and wellwood, when domi and lindros were playing together, lindros had like a 7 or 8 game point streak with a couple of them being tieing or game winning goals.

Antropov and Allison together on a line is murder because they both play down low and don't have the acceleration to get back. Allison forces awful passes all the time and its why he is always caught. He's a give-away machine.

Lindros and Domi were re-united for his last 10 or so games. I believe he had about 3 points in those 10 games.

I say we sandbag the rest of the season.....fire Quinn, fire JFJ and then get some of the respectable managment we so desperately need.

Belfour has played like shit most of the games this season, they really need to start playing telly more, he obviously has deserved it judging from the games I've seen him play this year.

There are. However, he has come out and said that he is staying in TO. I didn't watch the game tonight, only listened to it. Was Belfour as bad as they said he was?

Realistically, who would be interested in Sundin for close to $7mil/yr? I think has another year remaining on his contract. He is...what?...35 yrs old now.

Despite the lost yesterday, there was a positive...Berg will be out of the lineup for a little while :P
