Broken Nike v-10 shinguards

Recommended Posts

well after 1 and a half seasons my nike v-10s broke. i selected them cause i liked the fact that they were slim fitting and not bulky at all.

what do you guys suggest replacing them with? im pretty much looking for a shinguard that isnt bulky or large looking, and i want to be able to feel like im not wearing anything at all.

You could get another pair of Nikes if you liked those. Other considerations for light shin guards I've seen in other threads are the Easton Synergy shin guards, Mission M1's and a lot of people seem to like the RBK 6Ks although the 6Ks aren't as slim as the Nikes. I have the Nike V-14s myself and like those.

That must have been one wicked hit to broke your shinpad... maybe you need to find something tougher if your gonna be playing rough with the bigdogs.

For a slim fitting shin guard look at the Easton Synergys. If you like your Nikes, get another pair. Some places online had the V-12s on clearance.

nah its wasnt one big crack, it started to spinter from the top and its just gradually gotten bigger, luckly the shockpad wont let the splintering continue.

I concurr with some of the other guys. Go higher end Easton Snergy's. The 900's, 700's or 500's are slim fitting and decent protection. I have the 900's and I've had them for a couple of years and no problems to date. I prefer the fit over Reebok/Jofa shins and haven't seen any difference in the protection factor to date. ;)

I thought the bad news from some on this site was that the invisi-carb plastic was doodoo and there were many complaints about the pad breaking too soon?`

By far the best shin pads Ive ever had are Mission Matrix

There about 3 years old Id say so you can get them pretty cheap. They are very skinny around the leg, super light and I never even notice them while playing. Theyve lasted me the last two years, still no cracks or even ripping of they inner cloth. Highly recomended.
