Me and my friend both have 30 lites and have a ton of trouble taking slapshots - the puck is either staying on the ice or raising 2 feet and the puck is on an angle like this /. ive never had trouble with this before. if it helps im using a lindros curve and my stick is at my lips on skates. is this just me??

the stick is not going to eff up your slapper.

its a high performance stick so obviously its going to help.

experiment with it. take less ice, take more ice, transfer your weight differently, cut it down a bit. etc...

maybe the lie is wrong also...

1)Youre using the wrong curve.

2)Youre using the wrong flex.

3)You need to start hitting the gym.

It could be any of those.

Iggy is 5.5 and the Lindros is pretty close to that. My guess is it's the bigger rocker on the bottom of the Lindros that is creating the shot problems.

I'm using the iggy curve for like 1 years now and when i tried the lindros, i couldn't get used to, i thought it was the LIE..but maybe like chadd said, it might be the rocker...

I recently bought a vapor xxx lite I found my slapper better not because the stick was better but because i got a lower flex which helped a lot. I don't really think the stick is the problem you probably have a bad flex or pattern for you but I am already on my second one i broke the first and they gave me a new one but it will probably break soon too so i dont think the problem will last to long before you need a whole new stick all together.

i also seem to be hitting  all shots off the toe does that mean it is too high or too low?

It means your shooting wrong, slappers should always come off the heel.

Nope, slappers should be hit with the middle of the blade.

I get the best results by hitting slappers closer to the heel.

Doesn't it depend on your blade pattern? A few yaers ago I used a Shanahan and could only do decent slappers if I hit it close to the toe. Then I moved to the Sakic and used the middle of the blade for slappers. Now that I'm using Drury clones, close to the heel works best.

I only use heel curves, but I thought chippa was using a Drury. When I was coaching I always used to tell kids to make contact where the curve starts and it seemed to work for most of them.

Yep, Same here chadd. My first practice in junors Many,Many moons ago my D coach took me to the pro shop and made me get a modano curve witch is a mid heel. Best thing that ever happened to me. Just remember the farther you hit the puck from the heel the less acuracy and strength goes into the shot. I used to use a big curve and hit in the middle of the blade.(Thickist part of the blade is the heel) and when I went to a modano curve, took a little to get used to but Huge difference!!! Plus I think passing and feel is better with a heel curve.

It's also less stress on the blade when you hit the puck near the heel. Essentially the blade is a lever with the fulcrum all the way at one end. So a hit at the toe will produce far more torque on the blade than one near the heel, assuming both impacts were of equal force.

Whenever I slap off the toe it kills my hands..So that makes perfect sense.

Nah, I'm an Rbk Modano/Hossa pattern guy these days, switched over from Iginla.

well i used an iggy before and i liked it it wasnt bad but it didnt last me a long time, the lindros lie feels way different then the iggy lie, alls im saying and this worked fine for me, was to cut down my XXX-lite until the stick was to about my collar bone, and it still shot awesome so try that if you want to cut ur sticks shorter if you dont like it plug it up with a TPS comp plug
