They really aren't any better than any other company's top end gloves. A lot of it is whether or not you like the eagle fit. They probably aren't a good choice if you like a tighter glove.

I think eagles are better than any other glove. IMO they last longer and are more durable.

About the whole vapor deal its just like lets say eastons gloves. From the ultra light to the z-air. Theres not gonna be a lot of difference but they will probably be a little bit better.

Sometimes I find the lower models have things I like more on them, like nylon covering, air guessets and stuff like that, which most people think are cheap, I tend to like.

I think I asked a question like that on CB, from what I could gather, Eagle gloves are all hand made so its more of a crafsmanship glove then an assembly line glove such as the UL glove. Eagle gloves are known for their non exisentent break in time and the angled backrolls on x70 and up models are suppose to make it very flexible and the fit is suppose to be god like as compared to Easton gloves and I think they use good palm materials to allow you to get a better feel.

The Vapor XX and Vapor X is very distinct. The XX is loaded with Nike technology such as Dri Fit lining, Air Zoom as well as custom cuff and strech palms while the Vapor X is like the shell of the XX they took the design of the XX replacled the leather with (that other stuff, cant think of what it is called) and took of one X, So it looks identical but technology wise I dont see how it could compare to XX so basicly the addtion money you pay is for better materials and technology.

So on Easton terms the Vapor X would be compared to the Easton Extreme gloves while the Vapor XX would proabbly be Easton Air.

The thing many people like about Eagle is the name and the high cost, some people equate more expensive with better. They are a very loose fitting glove and have a very wide cuff. With the exception of goat skin palms, a custom eagle option, virtually all of their features are available on other brands. Their custom gloves are well made but insanely overpriced. The retail models are usually well made but I've seen several people have a number of problems with the durability of them as well. Find a glove that fits you well and is comfortable and don't worry about the price tag, regardless of if it's high or low.

Honestly 85% of kids buy gloves because of how cool they look, or because people on their team have them. Me? I love my 3 year old mission warp 4's. I've had em repalmed already, and for me nothing beats the feeling of em, even if they are starting to wear out.

Exactly. They sell well because they are "Eagles", no other reason. I've never been a fan of their stuff, but its not bad quality at all. I'll stick to my TPS or Hespelers until I can get some custom CP 94s in nylon for cheap.

I'm pretty sure Eagle made the old classic pro for Hespeler and Perani's was selling them for $50. I think the local rink still has a pair, too bad they aren't split finger or I'd have them now.

I personally have never liked Eagle gloves, way too loose. I always feel like my glove is about to fall off anytime I take my hand off the stick. Since I was 11 years old I have always used Easton gloves, except for a short stint in a pair of Vapor 10s that wore out in no time. Easton's are usually stiff in the beginning, but once broken in I love them for the long haul. If I couldn't have Easton, I'd pick Bauer or CCM over Eagle anyday.

I'm with Ryan on this one - too loose for me.

As fas as Easton gloves are concerned, I've had two pair - the old GX800 Gel and the first-generation Z-Air (which I still have in my attic). The gloves after the Z-Air just didn't do it for me.

Earlier this week, my friend was skating with his Eagles on, and him and another player got tied up. Long story short, he ended up getting his wrist slit by the other guy's skate because his glove came half way off. I'm not blaming this on Eagle at all, but wonder if it would have happened if he were wearing a tighter fitting glove.

Come on guys really... are you implying that Yashin was injured because of the brand of glove he was wearing????

I have 2 pairs of Eagles (X50 and X91+). I like a loose fitting glove with a wide cuff. I also like Mission (I have a Warp 0 pro model and '03 M1 Pro) and I think they fit much like the Eagles.

I recently tried a friends pair of Easton Synthesis gloves and first off the fingers were WAY shorter and much stiffer, but the Easton hand and finger protection was much better (or so it seemed), but I hated the cuff.

It seems I heard somewhere that Eagle was origionally a R&D company for many major brands (Sherwood, Bauer, etc), and then they decided to take some of their newer ideas and go solo.

Based purely on price there are many better values out there than Eagle, but if you like their style of fit, you know that you will always get a top quality pair of gloves from Eagle.

BTW I also have a pair of 39.5" EAGLE PMW1 goalie pads and Odyssey trapper and blocker, and their goal gear is even better quality than their player gloves

No was just messing around. Yashin even wears the wrist guards, but he was just unlucky. didn't seriously imply that it was Eagle's fault.

Like with all things its personal preference, and obviously a lot of people like their gloves loose- reflected in the ability to sell so many gloves, and have the prices that high still.
