mik3 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 AI2 should have won, the behind the backboard bounce was probably the best dunk ever. All of Nate's dunks had been done before.
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 He won because he was small, I really wish they deducted points for trying the dunk 10-14 times before completing it.

Dan_The_Man_16 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 Pfft Dr. J could do any of those dunks and make them look easy.

No kidding !AI2 did all his dunk in 2-3 tries where as Robinson took forever and when he did complete the dunk it was an easier version then the dunk he'd tried at the beginning
kosydar 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 No way is he 5'9". He used to be such a bitch to us when he played Oregon, he would always yell back at the crowd. The fact that he was amazing didn't help, either.
mik3 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2006 He became the black chris andersen at the end there. And yeah, the behind the backboard was one of the best ever. Barry from the foul line is up there too and Vince's elbow on the net.

echi24 1 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 he won because of his size which sucks because if your looking at dunks alone, iguodala's dunks were much nicer, but some had been done before so they were overlooked. the 20 diffferent tries got real annoying too.im surprised josh smith got such a low score, he did a double pump from the foul line. i know he screwed up with the tape and all, but still deserved a 45 at the least
mack 44 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 VC hanging on the rim, Kobe going between the legs, anyone from the foul line, Rex Chapman's behind the back, Jason Richardson's windmills or his between-the-legs reverse.

headonaswivel 1 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 Well said Chadd. The contest has never beenthe same since the legendary Carter against the grain 360, windmill, bounce and catch between the wickets, and arm in the rim contestWe need real head to heads like the Nique/MJ days. mack 44 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 When someone has more style and power than Dominique, let me know. We'll never know, which sucks. I'd gamble on one of the current stars but it's a piss-poor skills competition now.
LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 When someone has more style and power than Dominique, let me know. Iguodala is close. And despite how well Nique was at dunking, Jordon was still better.

LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 Agreed. And why did Robinson get a 50 for dunking over Spud Webb? I didn't realize dunking over the shortest guy in the building was impressive.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted February 20, 2006 Agreed. And why did Robinson get a 50 for dunking over Spud Webb? I didn't realize dunking over the shortest guy in the building was impressive. Couldn't Robinson just step over Spud? The funny thing is that I was never a dunk contest guy, I just respect those guys because they could hit a 15 footer and not just dunk. 'Nique may have been the best "game" dunk guy in the history of the league. My favorite all-star story was Bird walking into the locker room the year they added a check for winning and asking who was going to finish second in the 3 point competition. Dirk reminds me a of a slightly more athletic and much less intense version of Bird.
