Coffey curve

Recommended Posts

So I've been out of the loop awhile. Back when I played hockey, wooden sticks were the rule. I always used the "Coffey" style curve on my Sherwoods and lugged around an old Victoriaville as well. What sticks are similar to the Coffey curve? Yes, Im able to backhand with this style of curve so no wisecracks.. Im ready to try out the once piece sticks. Any ideas??

I use a Coffey too on my Momentum 80 (and YES, I can backhand too).

I also use a harrow.. im not sure on the numbers, but they are identical. Bauer makes a really close one too.. but I forgot which curve it was :(

I am also from mn and grew up always using the coffey 77 curve. I still use that curve. But I use sher-wood blades in a z-bubble shaft. I like the combo. Good feel and still light but not too light.

I used to use the Coffey pattern now I use the Gaborik from easton wich is very similar (toe is shaped the same as well). available in the ST and SL style 1 pieces.

Gaborik is a 9/16 mid curve at 5.5 lie

I use a Novius with a Sherwood Coffey blade and a Gaborik Stealth when I play and the feel is pretty close.. although the Coffey is more of a toe curve. Both are very nice illegal curve =)

What hockey shop you go to? I usually hit up Hanus Sports or Sports Hut in Wayzata, but when I was younger it usually was Westwood Sports in Bloomington, MN. I used to skate in the parks to the west of Jefferson HS.
