St. Louis Sherwood Eclipse

Recommended Posts

I was at the Lawrence Rink in MA. looking around and I came across a Sherwood Eclipse with a St. Louis Pattern. I noticed that he has been using the yellow synergy grip for awhile and was puzzled when I saw this stick. Does anybody know if there is a history with St. Louis and Sherwood? (Because this curve is posted up on the Pattern Database) Also, I was just wondering if the Crosby pattern is for Sidney Crosby?

I can't help you about the whole st.louis deal. But yes the Crosby curve is as in Sidney Crosby.

From what I know, St.Louis signed a deal to have his name printed onto Sherwood products so there is a curved that is labeled as St.Louis but that is just retail (the stuff you buy at the stores) St.Louis actual game used curve is different and St.Louis perfers Synergy Grips so hes using them but he is still affiliated with Sherwood except that Easton cannot sell retail Synergys with St.Louis pattern because he is signed on by Sherwood. So basicly Sherwood offered St.Louis money to have his name on there products how ever St.Louis is using synergys because he likes them better.

As for Sidney Crosby, that is infact Crosby's curve, he is signed on by Sherwood but in this case Crosby is actually using Sherwood sticks unlike St.Louis. However that maynot be Crosby's game issued curve because pros have specific needs and demands that need to be met but yes that is infact Crosby's curve, but he just doesnt use it just like the other NHLers.

I had heard somewhere that he (Crosby) was using this stick because the league he is in was sponsored by Sherwood, so everyone in the league has to use a Sherwood stick

well speaking of sher wood sponsorship, i dont know if its just the wheeling nailers(my local team) or the entire echl is sponsored. all the nailers except 4 use sher wood eclipse or a blue shaft(force flex?)

anybody know if they sponsor the whole echl?

Crosby plays in the QMJHL right? As far as i know, guys who play in the CHL (WHL, OHL, QMJHL) can use whatever kind of sticks, skates, pants, gloves etc that they want so I am pretty sure that not everyone in that league has to use sherwood.

In the AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League) Sherwood provides the sticks, pants and gloves for all the players and so everyone uses all that Sherwood stuff. My friend who is on an AJ team got a preview of the Momentum last year quite a while before anyone else knew about it.
