Bauer 8090 Sr. Skates Price Quote

Recommended Posts

The best price quote I received for these skates was $359.99 USD from HockeyMonkey.com. I have researched a little bit and have yet to find a better price. Does anyone else out there know of a better price for these skates?

P.S. - No one should tell me to search the forum for this because this forum is new and no one has discussed this specific topic. Thanks!

Remember if you buy them on the net, you will probably have to pay for a sharpening (sometimes more if they have never been sharpened) and for a heat fitting.

My local shops charge you for the initial sharpening when you buy skates and baking unless you have your sales slip on you.

So that's at least 35 bucks plus shipping so you're probably better off purchasing them from your LHS even if they are a little bit higher then internet sites. Plus you won't have to worry about fitting then since you will be trying them on before you buy.

Um...

I ASSURE YOU that if you use the search, you'll find something...

"New Swag In The Shop" was a post I put up a month ago saying how much I had the 8090s for.

Um, I assure you that I carried out a thorough search previous to my posting, and although I found information on the 8090's performance, I did not see anything regarding it's price other than your posting, which I read, but as stated in my first posting, I was curious if other people on the board had gotten a better quote than mine with other online hockey catalogs. The best price quote by far I received was from Cyclone Taylor for $285, which is the company that usually has the best prices for most products. Yes, companies usually charge for sharpening, but it usually isn't that much. As far as sizing, all you have to do is get an accurate size in a pro shop and then apply that to the skates you are ordering online. That is just to avoid having to return the skates if they don't fit.

Oh please no. I remember the legendary fight on CB about if it is ok to go to you LHS, try on the skates there and then leave the shop to order them online. Let's not go there again, please.

It WAS discussed. Nobody had found anything lower so far to reply to my post.

I thought Cyclone couldn't ship top end Bauer across the border.

I bought a pair of pro stock 7000's from them around Christmas. I don't know if them being a model from the year before or being pro stock factors into that though.

I UNDERSTAND it was discussed, but it was discussed once, and your price was the same price that I got, WHICH IS WHY I was inquiring on whether anyone saw a lower price than that, which I ended up seeing earlier today on Cyclone Taylor. I only need your helpfulness, not your anal retentiveness. Thank you.

Either the policy changed or the 8090's Cyclone Taylor has in stock are pro-stocks because the customer service informed me that they can ship them to the U.S.

Sweet. If my new skates weren't going to be here in the next 24 hours, I'd be all over those 8090s.

EDIT:

They showed up already.
