Anyone watching this game? It looks like the quiznos sign on the boards is being projected on. If this is true, I have never seen that before..

Ahh, I see now. Cool. How long before they do it to all the ads on the boards? That would be cool to have it change to the team colors or be flames all the way around the ice at a calgary game or something right before they start the game.

It all depends how much they cost, Islanders' owner has money to throw around so he can do stuff like that, but who knows if say Calgary could.

Man, Jagr is really great at hanging.

He only really hung at the end, everything else was pretty much just amazing passes, especially the second goal.

In the long run it saves money. Virtually no labor to change signs and zero printing cost.

It's not in Canada yet (or at least Vancouver, or at least as of last Tuesday...), but the name itself is mouth-watering. Prime rib...

Ottawa have had these LCD dashers for a while now, behind their bench especially. I think they will become more prevalent as time goes on. Outside of hockey the recent Baseball classic utilised some LCD boards. Domestic european soccer games have fully digital displays, so the ads can revolve and move around the pitch, mush like the sponsor screens that separate the bowls/tiers in NHL arenas.

However like in champions league soccer over here and the majority of the baseball classic the sponsors were digitally projected onto the dasher. That way each different network can generate their own sponsors, for their market.

No, I don't go nearly enough. I'm usually at school for lunch and there's an awesome deli sub store which the misses loves that we go to instead of Quizno's. They have awful hours around here (close at like 6-7 on fridays) and they are in bad locations too, so it doesn't help out much.

One just opened about 3/4 of a mile from my house.

In the WBC they had the projection backstops, when you're at a game live you see nothing on them, but at home you get the ad.

Keep drinking the hatorade and being jealous

Him hanging at the end of the game to possible break the rangers goal record was just absolutely pathetic......and even worse were Sam and JD trying to justify his actions.

Jagr is a great player, and noone can deny that. The thing that hurts him is he has the worst attitude when things dont go right for him, but with a season like this, i guess hes the best ranger ever
