Night Golf

Recommended Posts

Last night we snuck on to a coarse around 10 and played nine holes of night golf. We bought the glow balls with the glow sticks in the middle. It was A LOT of fun, and I didnt play as bad as I thought I would. Anyone else do it? Stories?

Never night golfed, but I did campus golf one time, at night. We started at our doorway and made our way around campus making up different holes. Great time cranking golf balls off cement walls and over parking lots....Look out for window tho. No casualties that night.

One time I played in a tournament where you play nine holes with light then have dinner and play nine holes in the dark. You have to use the balls and only the flashlight they give you. It really helps if you know the course well.

Growing up in Alaska it's the best/only way to play since golf's not worth spending money on. The courses there "close" at about 10 but stay open for people to play on for free. Gives you about 2-3 hours to play before it's too dark to see the ball. Nothing like using broken bottlenecks for tees and carrying 3 clubs.

My summer house is on a golf course, so I generally play 36 holes a day + 1-2 hours on the range, a lot of the time during summer. If i'm going for a full golf day (usually 2 weeks in a row I'm at the course) Usually with a late morning tee time, lunch, range, workout, dinner, night golf. Night golf is sick, it's easier for me since I've played this particular course so many times..

Those "glow-balls" are shit. They don't fly nearly as far, so I usually have to hit at least one extra club, and they don't spin at all - I suppose I see the novelty, but can't justify the purchase.

There's a nice, well-lit Par-3 - about 20 minutes from my house. My buddies and I try to get out there at least once or twice a week - the stakes are usually a bit higher there then they are at our club, usually about $50/75 bucks per guy.

No, you mis-understand.

It's $10/round at the course (9 holes). We usually have a $50-$75 bet going for each guy, every round.
