I see you are a rookie. I didn't mean to be rude. I run a pro shop so I get to make fun of Hockeymonkey. Those pants are closeout/discontinued model from over 2 years ago.

..... and if they dont fit or have a defect, don't expect to send them back or get a replacement. Their customer service reps know about as much about hockey as I do about the female menstrual cycle.

Anyone tried these pants before? They say its the lightest in the easton line, how's the protection and mobility?

http://store.yahoo.com/hockeymonkey/easulprosmub3.html

I don't know about the protection or mobility, but they have reflective piping! Buy 'em now!

WTF? Who wants reflective piping on their pants? Is it for people who play street hockey in the dark, so they don't get run over by cars?

Hi Mew. You'll see we're fans of supporting your local hockey store (LHS). Buying sight-unseen from an online retailer is very risky. The only way I could ever justify buying online is if you know exactly what you're getting, for example, buying an exact replacement of something you already have.

Going to your LHS, trying stuff on, then buying online is a no no. Hopefully you have a good hockey shop in your area. I feel bad for those who don't...then again road trips are always fun!

Good luck.

*WARNING*

The following statement is a generalization and there will be some exceptions to the rule.

More protection means more weight and less mobility. Less weight and more mobility means less protection.

Easton hockey pants are known for their protection. Even the Pros know this. The Ultra Lights are a middle of the line pant and if you are playing contact I suggest you move up to an Easton Air/ Synergy 700 pant. If your just playing in a non -contact league these should be fine for the occassional bump along the way. They are a fairly light pant but offer fairly good protection. ;)

I found the pic that I was referring too... totally didn't know I had reflective piping until I saw this!

thats me there in the blue... I have done no enhancements to these photos, that bright reflective is how the flash reflected off the piping..

IMO easton pants are the some of the worst pants made. There very comfortable but every pair i've had (3) the thigh pads have broken as soon as they get hit with a shot with any sort of speed.
